Itinanggi ni Sen. Risa Hontiveros ang mga akusasyon laban sa kaniya na may kinalaman siya sa bicam insertions at pondo mula sa unprogrammed funds.

Ayon sa senadora, hindi siya pumirma sa bicameral conference committee at bumoto pa ng “NO” sa kontrobersyal na 2025 budget.

Idiniin din niya ang lahat ng kaniyang inamyendahan ay dumaan sa tamang proseso at inaprubahan pa ng Senado.

RESOLUTE RISA

Someone is clearly running an operation against Senator Risa Hontiveros.

A fake news item is circulating, falsely claiming that she made “insertions” in the 2025 national budget when in truth, she voted NO on its passage.

This is not the first time Risa has been targeted with lies. For a time, she was the lone opposition senator (when Kiko, Frank and Leila left the Senate), standing up to entrenched interests and exposing misuse of public funds, from confidential funds to flood control anomalies. And each and every time, she has responded with facts and transparency.

Even the PhilHealth corruption accusations hurled at her years ago were fact-checked and proven false by multiple independent organizations, including VERA Files and Rappler. She was never charged, never cited, never implicated but only maligned.

And just recently, Senator Jinggoy Estrada, no ally of hers, publicly acknowledged, by way of example, Risa’s spotless record, a rare praise in Philippine politics, one that speaks volumes about her integrity.

Risa has always been firm but fair, principled but never self-righteous. She is incorruptible and that is precisely why she is being attacked now.

That is the Resolute Risa I have known and heard for many years.

Chavit Singson has crossed the line. His brazen call to kick out all politicians, install the military and clergy to rule, and dismantle the Marcos government is not free speech — it’s sedition in broad daylight.

No one, not even a former governor, is above the Constitution.

The Philippines has suffered enough from coup plots, warlords, and self-styled kingmakers. The Republic stands on the sovereignty of the people — not on the whims of one man who dares incite rebellion.

The Marcos government must act. And act fast if it wants to restore order and bring destabilisers and subversives to account , this is the only way to bring dignity to its mandate if it wants to protect the people it serves.
