Dusty May is not only one of the best coaches in college basketball, he’s one of my greatest mentors as an entrepreneur.
I’ve never met him, but I’ve learned more from his interviews and press conferences than most “business idols.”
Just some of the lessons I’ve taken from him:
- Always have respect for your competition
- Find special, overlooked talent and helping them realize their ceiling
- Create a custom system around the team you build that enhances their strengths and mitigates their weakness
- Create a culture of togetherness and unselfishness where everyone puts the team above themselves
- Source internal motivation to dig deep and give it your all each and every game
- The story behind the metrics matters way more than the metrics themselves
- Be obsessed with your craft and a student of its history
- Wish those who leave your organization well & use it as an opportunity to seek underdiscovered talent or promote from within
- The job isn’t done
Pro-Hamas accounts have faked tweets to try and discredit Jews speaking out against their atrocities. They did a good attempt in their forgery. But they fucked up big…
This is the 27th day since the October 7th Hamas Massacre, when Hamas tortured, raped, mutilated, and burned hundreds of innocent civilians.
26 days since Hamas militants abducted 240 hostages, 30 of which are children, still being held captive.
We must take action now, and demand the IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF THE HOSTAGES FROM HAMAS CAPTIVITY.

Simply beyond words!
Kevin Chen, Canadian pianist and winner of the Arthur Rubinstein Competition, made a surprise change to his program last night at Carnegie Hall.
In an act of solidarity with Israel, and in showing his support for those who were taken hostage, he opened his recital with Israel‘s national anthem, Hatikvah.
Thank you for supporting Israel, and may it inspire everyone else to do the same!
After a good conversation with @NYULaw's Dean, I'm pleased to see him condemn the Hamas terror attack.
Students have a right to political speech, but not the right to use a school's imprimatur or resources to spread hate speech. I urge all universities to uphold that principle.
Amazon Prime's "Good Rivals" will investigate the social and political roots of the rivalry between the Mexican and American international soccer teams, from Mexico's historic domination of the game to Donald Trump's election in 2016. https://t.co/SjEYibFPwF
So this is kinda exciting. Thrilled to share poster for "The Redeem Team," our film on the singular 2008 USA Basketball squad that won gold in Beijing. Incredible team effort on this project. Debuts on @netflix Oct 7! #theredeemteam@DwyaneWade@KingJames@LeDoctor
Calling all NYCers! Dan Goldman is my dear friend, my former roommate, and held the chuppah at our wedding. He is also DEEPLY committed to public service, LED the House Impeachment trial of Trump, and is an incredible voice for our generation. Vote for him in today's primary!
Now public: John Skipper's Meadowlark Media and @Skydance Sports partnering on an ambitious docuseries on the USA-Mexico soccer rivalry. Plus a doc on Diana Taurasi. Vamos Meadowlark!

@msa_allen @MattDoyle76 i like Sands, and to his credit, he was much better in 2nd half and looked good for most of Gold Cup. But he was absolutely lost in first half - some of that blame should fall on GB, but Sands literally tripped over himself like 3x & lost every 50/50
