On this day in 1985, 39 years ago the Philadelphia police dropped a bomb on a West Philadelphia neighborhood, specifically on the house of a Black Liberation group called MOVE, ki!!ing 11 members, including 5 children, destroying 61 homes and leaving 250 people homeless.
This is the 3rd costume house or shop I’ve heard that’s closing this month. 2 in LA and 1 in ATL. The strike + so many productions leaving the US is to blame from my POV. It’s sad and I’m concerned that we are losing valuable resources and artisans are being put of of business.
@BFABWInfo Southeast Costumes has been liquidating their collection for the past few weeks. Not sure what’s left, as of last week the gold room was emptied.
I’ve gotten more inquiries for productions shooting outside of the USA vs in. This is the first year it’s been this way for me personally as a costume designer.
