This is what it boils down to in East Sussex. Where will these kids go? There are no schools. Education is no longer an automatic right but a privilege it seems. Maybe if they saved £ on barristers fighting legal (3 times in one year here) they wouldn't have to squabble.
@southwestehcp And that’s only the ones ‘recorded’ There are also thousands with unidentified SEND and unrecorded PT timetables or regularly ‘sent home’ due to unmet need
Over 30 lawyers have joined us in calling on the Govt to abandon proposals in the #SENDReview Green Paper.

The system doesn’t need to be reformed again. It needs to be made to work.
Looks like Bristol City Council officers have some explaining to do about who tasked their SEND parent surveillance activity, & why:
“the parent carer forum has not asked Bristol City Council to collect data about parents and carers of children and young people with SEND”
@CaptainK77@contactfamilies@NNPCF It’s to LAs benefit to have PCF behaving badly or creat a culture of doubt and mistrust between parent carers & PCF. LA manipulate and deflect - dividing parents diluting parent voice, weakening the chance to influence positive change for outcomes for cyp #StrongerTogether
We aren’t advising schools to close during high temperatures, but school leaders should make sure they take any steps necessary to make sure children and staff are safe and comfortable. Find out more 👇

@SpcialNdsJungle@teamsquarepeg Loving the way they apparently attribute this to "an allegedly broken tribunal system". The fact that they regularly find against Kent doesn't meant that the tribunal system is broken, but it may tell us something about the Kent system.
EHCP draft for child with communication as a primary need. The only provision for this is that within a year their communication needs "will be explored by an appropriate clinician and recommendations implemented". And LAs wonder why they get so many appeals.
“For too long, families who face big enough challenges already have also found themselves facing - as one mother put it - “an unending battle” with a system that’s supposed to be on their side…
@Samanth22798559 You ensure they provide alternative provision to meet your child’s needs
“whatever the reason for absence the Council should step in where it knows that a child is not receiving education.”

Important to keep an eye on facts; the number ‘not on registers’ and ‘dropped off registers’ includes over 80k known home educators.
These kids are not missing. Neither are those who don’t have school places as there’s no suitable setting or parents are driven to SEND Tribunal
@tes Not isolating contacts of positive cases in schools is such a huge mistake. So if siblings share a room and one tests positive the other can go to school with a negative LFT. Absolutely bonkers.
