I never met my uncle, Henry Perrin, after whom I’m named. He was killed in the liberation of Holland, 80 years ago this April 7. A friend recently visited his grave in Holten and sent me this picture. The Dutch have never forgotten Canada’s commitment to freedom. Nor should we.

In two weeks Donald Trump becomes President. He’s still threatening us with punishing tariffs. Canada will likely have three Prime Ministers managing the file in the next six months. Only an election can provide whoever Canadians choose with a mandate to lead through this crisis.
