Good Morning!
As requested by many, here is a fact sheet with some information that may be helpful in your efforts to educate our fellow Oklahomans on this issue.
***As a disclaimer, OPP is providing this as an educational resource only.
Just realized Relevant Magazine published another one of my articles, two years later! The things you learn by googling yourself . . . Hope you enjoy this one!

Holding Ruby in line at the Houston airport with a stroller, car seat, 2 suitcases, backpack, diaper bag.
The girl behind me says, “You are dadding so hard right now.”
Yes. Yes I am.
I want to stoke the fire I’m in the middle of right now about as much as I want to amputate my toes without anesthesia. I’d much prefer to change the subject & move on & ignore the fury. I also want my family to have relief. But after intense prayer, I need to say a few things.->
Become an expert on your partner. An expert on their thoughts, feelings, beliefs, hopes, joys, wounds and dreams. You don’t need to be an expert on anything else in your life, until you’re an expert on the most meaningful person in your life.

Many wounds of the soul are wounds of deprivation.
One path to healing is found in giving to others that very thing you feel deprived of.
If you don’t have a loving father, be a loving father. If you feel alone, be present for someone. Wounds are a hint of how we ought to give.
@Coltenbarnaby Also, to be clear, I mean “intellectualization” in the classical Freudian sense as a defense mechanism to avoid confronting your own problems and emotions. No beef here with intellectuals ;) just with Freudian over intellectualizers!
Intellectualization is more often a hinderance to growth & understanding than is ignorance. The ignorant may at least want to learn. The intellectualizer refuses to be taught and is therefore very difficult to help.
@Coltenbarnaby Don’t give up so easily my Canadian brother! I think we would agree that in the context of emotional/psychological development, one who overly intellectualizes as a defense mechanism is in at least as much trouble as one who is ignorant of his own emotional underdevelopment.
