a legit research study on how to live a fulfilled life, and you're going to tell me that me saying "la la la la i'm having fun wheeeeeee" is unserious?
i’ve flown four times in the past month, united/starlink is actually going to dominate.
unless you run literally everything on your device (please seek help), the constant server re-connects /VON swaps plane wifi uses makes running coding agents in flight that can actually make commits and deploy pretty impossible.
starlink circumvents that. i was able to make 0 code commits on a 6 hour jetblue flight. i refactored two entire repos while spilling biscoff cookie crumbles on my lap on united.
i have a new favorite airline @united
Post demo day, here's what I would do differently if I was doing @ycombinator again.
Swing for the fences.
Most startups fail. That's the truth. Your job is not to avoid potential failure, it is to maximize your expected value. Go big or go home.
Think of it like a relay race.
Need finding, building your MVP, launching, watching it explode, hitting PMF, scaling. You need to be sprinting through each step, changing mindsets quickly, and getting back to top speed.
Build AI native from day one.
Being able to do things that don't scale has always been a major advantage for startups. Even on growth side, building self-learning loops into everything you do is invaluable. Y Combinator provides a ton of free credits for building. Use them.
Shape the meta.
There's a startup-building bible @ycombinator gives you day one. Read it, learn from it, and then put it to the side. The strategies that work today come from founders who figured it out years ago. You need to be the founder that figures out now what will make its way into next year's playbook.
The most exciting points in time historically center themselves around periods of extreme change. The world is different now than it was just months ago. OURA's going to IPO before OpenAI. @Stanford won a football game. Small businesses can automate their growth entirely with @lemonlime.
Crazy world we're living in.
I've spent the past few months conducting never-before-seen research on outbound.
We ran sales via email, in-person, Spotify, Pokemon Go, Kalshi, and over half a dozen more channels.
