@7abs101@KaeGee4681@AdvocateOfBarca@FabrizioRomano Except in this case it wasn’t a foul. Football is a physical sport and so there will be contact, some acceptable some not. That right there isn’t heavy enough to be called a foul even outside the box.
@Cartadas_2_0@Sirdipson@bla_bidza I can’t believe you’re still defending FIFA when it’s clear that they could do more. They’re supposed to control the tournament and so at least, they should try and sort things out with the US. And, if this was a different country, it’d be a different story. Like the U20 WC
@Cartadas_2_0@Sirdipson@bla_bidza Are you aware that FIFA has revoked ticket allocations for thousands of Iranian supporters. At this point, they’re not just standing aloof but they’re part of the chaos.
@Cartadas_2_0@bla_bidza And also I don’t know how relocating the ref would be a bad thing especially after Canada has confirmed he’s welcome to officiate matches there
@Cartadas_2_0@bla_bidza I mean we are talking about the same situation here. What happens when Iran goes through? Would the US finally allow them a base camp in the country? I’m just pointing out that it’d have been easier on the team if FIFA relocated their group stage matches to the other host nations
@Cartadas_2_0@bla_bidza But FIFA hasn’t done nearly enough to justify themselves. They could’ve relocated the matches of the Iranian team to either Mexico or Canada to save them the hassle and could’ve sent Omar Artan to officiate in Canada or Mexico
@Cartadas_2_0@bla_bidza Honestly, Gullit never directly criticized or spoke about the human rights violations of the Qatar WC, maybe because he worked for a Qatari owned sports network. But then he’d be hypocritical to criticize the US cuz of that, so perhaps, that’s why he’s stayed out of it.
@Cartadas_2_0@bla_bidza I get you but FIFA is the intermediary here and if they don’t act, then the US won’t stop. I mean we’re all criticizing the US too but it’ll be useless if FIFA doesn’t act.
@Cartadas_2_0@bla_bidza And this shows the poor planning because FIFA enters into a host agreement contract with the host nation to ensure these things don’t happen but here we are.
@Cartadas_2_0@bla_bidza You do know that Russia and Qatar also had strict travel restrictions during their time too but they were able to put that aside for the WC sake. Why can’t the US do same?
@Cartadas_2_0@bla_bidza Here’s your answer. They could’ve used the fan ID system they used for the previous 2 world cups to bypass these strict rules. Because in all fairness, we’re just there to play/watch the beautiful game.
@Cartadas_2_0@bla_bidza First of all,a lot could have been done. The problems arose months ago but they’ve just been idle. The US has always had strict travel conditions even as of Jan 1 and some of them applied to countries which have already secured a WC berth. Don’t you think FIFA could’ve done smth?
@Cartadas_2_0@bla_bidza It’s like going to someone’s house and being met with irrational rules. You can complain but, ultimately, it’s still their house. So it’s FIFA’s duty to ensure that doesn’t happen since we’re all going there because of them.
