That’s the 9th-most in a playoff game since 2000.

The offensive coordinator is an odd scapegoat in a game featuring a Top-10 offensive performance the last quarter-century.

If Ben Johnson was so distracted, how did the Lions manage their 2nd-best offensive output in a historically good season?

Ben Johnson can be fairly criticized for two decisions in that game:

- 5-WR shotgun formation on 3rd & 1 in the red zone (Goff strip-sacked)

- Jameson Williams trick-play pass (intercepted)

The first backfired because Graham Glasgow whiffed on a block and Goff didn’t anticipate unimpeded blindside pressure.

The second was inexcusable; it was a do-or-die drive and, Jameson Williams had never attempted a pass in his life (including high school and college).

But Detroit was already down 10 in the 4th quarter (17.8% win probability) when the Jamo mishap occurred.

It was the final nail, not the cause of death.

Turnovers hurt, but the offense scored 31 points and moved the ball at will. They did enough to win most games.

Ben Johnson was the scapegoat, the defense was the culprit.

On their opening drive, Washington went 51-yards before getting stuffed on 4th & 1.

-Punt (pinned Detroit at own 9)
