Finished Comfort Me with Apples in one sitting. Oh I do love the start and kept guessing until the 2/3 part of the story, and it went downhill after they revealed the twist. Kinda anti-climax for me.

Finished Helen of Nowehere as my first entry read to the booker longlist this year.. Decided on reading it first because it's a short read.

Now, what do I think about it? Without spoilering much of the content, (1/3)

Do I recommend it? It has beautiful prose if you love the type, minimal plot, heavy on consciousness, and it's darkly funny for me. Yeah, for sure! (3/3).

It's a sarcastic (funny, even) narrative of a sexist man who can't believe that his way of life is not amiable to people around him. The ending got me thinking about Adolfo's novel 'Asleep in The Sun' in terms of surrealistic approach. (2/3)

Gue merasa yang kaya gini2 selalu kejadian karena ada orang2 yang punya pride tinggi sama profesi mereka, ngerasa punya kuasa, sampe berani ngatain miskin dll, diajarin apa sih pas kuliah?

Dihujat, dikatain miskin, disuruh serangan jantung, iris nadi aja biar cepet, ke kamar jenazah aja, dll. Termasuk oleh dokter2.

Trus keluarganya ngabarin klo ybs meninggal, diduga telat ditangani.
