When I was 20 I met this guy in a bouldering gym. He took me to an UG rave in a penthouse unit in SF's FiDi. That's where I fell in love w/ psychedelic entertainment lighting, which I made into a lucrative and fulfilling career with IATSE.
Anywho, that's my personal lore.
It would be slick if the sliding cover was spring loaded. For example, if the photographer had a deadman switch style food pedal that has to be pressed in order to hold the hatch cover open. Keep both hands on the camera, and simply lift your foot to snap it shut.
@generic_void It's always funny to ascribe some sort of grand strategy to Trump and tariffs. The guy just loves tariffs! He is a tariff otaku who comes home to his tariff waifu pillow every night.
@generic_void Yep, I only login to X every few weeks to check in on how bad it is getting. Bluesky much more closely resembles the original Twitter before Elmo ruined it.
@generic_void @arifeniks Lots of retail investors are just Bogle heads that go nuts for s&p 500 index funds. Not checking on a daily basis is the common wisdom there
@Duderichy It was designed with the dual mandate of minimizing crash impact to pedestrians, and allowing the driver to see over the hood. That's why it looks weird and out of proportion.
I feel like within the last year somebody in the econ community wrote or recommended a book of underestimated/unexpecged reasons why you should have kids, does anybody know what I'm referring to?
@bundyscar@Tyler_The_Wise@ResisttheMS I think the incentives should be better aligned at the point of sale, because in many cases, the person buying the bulbs only think about upfront costs. For example, cheap landlords might be inclined to buy incandescent bulbs because their tenants pay the energy bill.
