In a world where athletes are often encouraged to build their own brand, Tennessee Volunteers running back DeSean Bishop chose to make one thing unmistakably clear: his greatest victory is not on the football field. It is the salvation he found in Jesus Christ.

Speaking during SEC Media Days, Bishop did not begin by talking about touchdowns, statistics, or championship goals. Instead, his first words were an open declaration of faith.

"First and foremost, I want to give all glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I would not be here without Him."

Those were not rehearsed words for applause. They were the testimony of someone who says God rescued him from what he described as "a really dark place" and a path of destruction.

Although Bishop rushed for 1,076 yards and 16 touchdowns last season, he made it clear that trophies and recognition are temporary. In his eyes, the greatest miracle is not athletic success but a transformed heart.

He explained that he wants teammates to notice something different about him, not because of talent or fame, but because they see Christ in the way he lives.

"When somebody sees something different in me, I want that difference to be the Lord."

That statement carries a powerful challenge for every believer.

Many people know how to speak about Jesus. Fewer consistently reflect Him through their character, humility, and daily choices. Bishop reminds us that the loudest testimony is often a life that quietly points people to Christ.

He also encouraged anyone searching for hope to pursue a relationship with Jesus, saying that knowing Him changes everything. His words echo the promise of 2 Corinthians 5:17, that anyone who belongs to Christ becomes a new creation. The old life passes away, and a new life begins.

Whether you are a student, a parent, an employee, or an athlete, your platform may look different from Bishop's, but the calling is the same: to glorify God wherever He has placed you.

Success fades. Records are eventually broken. Fame is temporary.

But a life surrendered to Jesus leaves an eternal impact.

May we be known not only for what we accomplish, but for Who we faithfully represent.

However, lenders are hitting a massive wall driven by two core problems:

𝟭) 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁: Almost every formal lender is fiercely competing for the tiny percentage of formally employed Zimbabweans with steady paychecks.

𝟮) 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗮: The vast majority of economic activity happens in the informal market. Assessing creditworthiness here is nearly impossible — and most informal traders remain unbanked, deeply distrustful of financial institutions, and content operating entirely in cash.

Until banks find smart, data-driven ways to underwrite informal businesses without demanding traditional payslips, credit growth is going to hit a hard ceiling.

A 94-year-old widow in Malawi experienced the comfort of sleeping on a mattress for the first time after receiving help from the Brazilian Christian mission Até Que Todos Saibam—“Until Everyone Knows.”

According to missionary Joani “Tia Jô” Bentes, the elderly woman had been sleeping on the ground on a thin mat. She was suffering from hunger, severe malnutrition and constant pain throughout her body. When the mission learned about her condition, the team brought her a mattress, food and practical care.

Because of her limited vision, Tia Jô gently guided her into the room. As the widow lay down on the mattress, she smiled with relief and repeatedly thanked God, declaring, “The Lord is good!”

This beautiful moment reminds us that sharing the Gospel is not only about the words we speak—it is also about showing the love of Jesus through compassion, generosity and action. A mattress may seem ordinary to many of us, but to this woman, it represented comfort, dignity and the assurance that she had not been forgotten.

Scripture teaches us to care for widows and those in need. May God help us become His hands and feet, bringing hope to people who are suffering and reminding them that they are seen, loved and never alone.

The Lord is good—and sometimes His goodness arrives through the kindness of His people.

Former President George W. Bush has developed a simple daily habit that continues to encourage his family. According to his daughter, Jenna Bush Hager, he sends her a different Bible verse every morning.

The tradition began years ago when Jenna’s twin sister, Barbara, was going through a difficult breakup. Bush started texting her Scripture as a steady source of hope and encouragement, and eventually began sending verses to Jenna as well. Jenna says the messages have become a meaningful part of her daily life, and she often shares them with others who need encouragement.

Bush has long been open about the role faith has played in his own life. He has credited evangelist Billy Graham with pointing him to God’s Word and has written that the way to receive God’s grace is by embracing Jesus Christ as the risen Lord. He has also shared that his faith gave him the strength to overcome alcoholism.

Construction of the University of Zimbabwe Specialist Medical Centre in Avondale began after the foundation stone was laid in 2021.

The specialist medical facility will enhance clinical training by exposing University of Zimbabwe students to modern specialist medical equipment and advanced healthcare technologies and strengthen specialist healthcare and medical training.

The multidisciplinary facility will provide specialised services in oral health, eye care, assisted reproduction and emergency medicine.

Its commissioning also aligns with Government’s Heritage-based Education 5.0 policy requirements.

On the tenure of loans & cost of money, this morning I posed the following questions to the financial services sector:

1. Why is the financial services sector charging businesses & households steep interest rates yet they have significant deposits from pension funds which they secured from our payslips at zero cost?

2. Why do banks offer short term loans yet they have patient capital from pension funds?

3. Why do financial services sector channel more funds towards property development regardless of the fact that the country is enjoying economic stability for more than 2 years with firm indications that the stability is here to stay.

4. Why is IPEC not correcting the anomaly in (3)

I called on the financial services sector to have a behavioral change chat a new course focused on allocating funds towards industrialization and avoid standardizing the cost of money since the cost build up of sources of finance is different.
