FOR TRUTH, JUSTICE, AND ACCOUNTABILITY
Students, faculty, and guests of the Ateneo de Manila University Class of 2026 wore black wristbands during the Baccalaureate Mass held earlier, June 19, 2026, as a symbol of mourning and a call for justice and accountability in the deaths of fellow Ateneans Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili.
The community likewise staged a walkout, demanding truth in the wake of the tragic incident.
The program included prayers and speeches from student organization representatives, professors, and other members of the Ateneo community.

BLACK-BAND PROTEST
Graduating students of Ateneo de Manila University are set to wear black bands during commencement rites from June 19 to 21 and join a walkout on Friday, June 19, in solidarity with the families of Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili, whose deaths have sparked calls for transparency, accountability and justice.
In a statement posted Thursday, June 18, the Ateneo Seniors’ Alliance urged members of the Class of 2026 to wear black bands on their right wrists and join a community walkout after the commencement rites, saying the community “cannot act as if everything is normal” amid lingering questions over the university’s response to the tragedy.
Earlier, the Sanggunian ng mga Mag-aaral ng mga Paaralang Loyola had also called for a June 19 walkout, urging students, faculty and staff to demand justice, accountability and clarity from the administration.

All this chaos.
Just to protect the Dutertes and their allies.
The country has sacrificed too much—our institutions, our democracy, and far too many lives—for the survival of people who believe they are above accountability.

We have spectacular new high-resolution images of our home planet, all of us looking back through the Orion capsule window at our Artemis II astronauts as they continue their journey to the Moon.
Yesterday was wild. Had a sanggu meeting while in code AND doing a major group work for theo due that night, all at the same time. Then took an epic fall down the stairs while i was still in a Zoom call walking to my groupmates in IRH.

‘PATTERNS OF DRUG USE DO NOT EXIST IN A VACUUM’
Paolina Massidda, common legal representative of victims of former president Rodrigo Duterte’s drug war, highlighted the realities of why poor communities are vulnerable to drug use.
“In these communities, structural conditions including the absence of adequate mental health services, limited access to quality education, scarce employment opportunities, and the chronic stress associated with poverty, create an environment in which substance use is more likely to emerge,” she said during the confirmation of charges hearing on Tuesday.
