Indiana averaged 4.1 victories a season in the 30 years prior to the arrival of Curt Cignetti. He's is now 16-2 at IU. The only losses -- at Ohio State and at Notre Dame.
Somehow no major program hired this guy until he was 61 years old.
And if you think he's leaving Bloomington, I wouldn't count on it. No need. This is a new era of the sport and the Hoosiers are title contenders.
Couldn’t agree more. My daughter, who previously paid no attention to sports, is now a huge @WNBA fan. She originally got interested because of CC, but now she follows all the major players and is a huge fan of the whole league. Engelbert is in danger of squandering all that.
It’s the WNBA who should be “grateful” for Caitlin Clark. Not vice versa.
Instead the league keeps trying to alienate some of the fan base that it should be converting into league-wide supporters.

Grateful for @indystar and @mirrorindy. Recent major stories: State Sen. Greg Taylor's sexual harassment. Indpls Housing Auth's mismanagement hurting vulnerable tenants. IHSAA harming kids when they transfer for non-sports reasons. Strong local news holds the powerful to account.
@nkellyIN@JamesEBriggs@kaitlin_lange I thought her explanation was great. She wanted the top position, and when she didn't get it, she accepted the assistant position so that she can help drive for change. Sen. Hunley is showing real leadership.
@johnarnold Really great thread on the negative effects of hospital consolidation. Just noting that Mike Braun is not yet our "incoming governor." The election is on Tuesday, and while Braun leads in the few public polls, his challenger has been looking strong coming into the final stretch.
@JoshuaClaybourn@aaron_renn I'd argue that low-income housing is related to the church's mission and therefore not subject to Unrelated Business Income Tax. But even if the church has to pay UBIT, that could be factored into the financial modeling.
@gbosslet 501(c)(3) orgs are allowed to lobby up to a certain amount (ballot measures are considered lobbying). Orgs that lobby may take 501(h) election, which provides set amounts that orgs can spend for lobbying. So, for instance, an org w/ $5M budget can spend $400K on lobbying.
Once again I find that I'm among the five or six people on a packed plane who care to look out the window at views unavailable to humankind for almost all of our history on earth
NEWS: The IRS says that non-profit NIL collectives offering tax deductions could be illegal.
In a memo today, IRS Chief Counsel says donations made to 501(c)(3) collectives “are not tax exempt” because their benefits are not incidental to exempt purposes
