NC State successfully completed their game against Richmond in an absolute blowout. This is a pleasant surprise for the Wolfpack: with NC State’s luck this had 28-0 lead unable to be resumed and declared no contest written all over it.
Arkansas has had Tahoma 31 Bermudagrass on the field since 2019, and has artificial turf on the sidelines. Pretty clear demonstration of the difference between the 2 here. 🥵
Producing food is expensive. Our economy is fake and distorted and we've come to expect valuable things to be cheap. Quality food isnt cheap. If it is, there is market distortion and dishonesty involved, or it is in fact not quality food. Quality costs money. The big development is now even slop is getting expensive.
A new study by @NationalCorn found:
-U.S. corn seed prices averaged 68% higher than Brazil’s
-Insecticide prices averaged 87% higher
-Some fungicides cost more than double what Brazilian farmers paid
-Many herbicide comparisons also approached double Brazilian price levels
For NCGA President Jed Bower, an Ohio farmer, the findings confirm concerns many growers have held for years: “It sure doesn’t look like we’re the low-cost producer anymore,” Bower says. “The study shows the American farmer is really paying for all the innovation and research for the rest of the world to take advantage of.”

Ever hear of the Black Patch Tobacco Wars that happened in SW Kentucky and NW Tennessee?
From 1904-1909 the Tobacco farmers waged war against the American Tobacco Company (ATC). ATC was a tobacco monopoly, formed in 1890, that either bought out or crushed independent tobacco buyers. This dropped the price of tobacco to 2-3 cents per pound.
So the tobacco farmers created the Planters Protective Association (PPA) with the idea of withholding all the tobacco sales.
The ATC decides to bully the PPA, hiring henchmen to threaten and beat the PPA, they pay off the sheriffs and the judges in order to keep tobacco prices as low as possible.
The PPA finally hits a breaking point and forms the Night Riders that salt entire fields of tobacco, torch barns full of dried tobacco, beat people and farmhands that sold to the ATC and dynamited warehouses.
Eventually the Supreme Court would rule the ATC operated as an illegal monopoly and would be dismantled.
Farmers with all the media attention we have a huge opportunity to get the word out on our farm crisis and we’re TOTALLY BLOWING IT!! Here are your talking points…. stick to the script for the good of farmers everywhere:
1. Cost of producing soybeans has been rising out of control since 2021 putting the squeeze on farmers.
2. It takes more bushels to pay the expenses today than any time in history.
3. Costs are rising partly due to the lack of competition because of unchecked consolidation leading to big ag monopolies.
4. Everyone in the entire food supply chain is making money except the farmer. Why are consumers paying higher prices for food when farmers are going bankrupt?
5. Antitrust enforcement must happen to re-introduce competition in the input supply marketplace
6. Government policy should allow for the expansion of biofuels to increase domestic use.
7. The government should work on expanding our export markets so we’re not so heavily relying on a single country to sell our product.
If the interview runs long, start talking about the need to increase sustainable ag practices, increase direct to consumer protein sales, increase locally sourced food production.
Do not use the words “farmers want markets not bailouts” instead say “The cost of production is too high, dammit”
Got it? Now go to it!
The last prompt/nearby NOLA DAP barge traded $820 on 7/30.
This morning, Dec '26 corn is down to $4.4575/bushel.
That DAP/corn ratio is 184 which is the all-time high record based on our data.
I'm going to go sit in a corner and think about what we have done.
