These are talented businessmen from CA who suddenly realize their own laissez-faire attitudes have destroyed their communities, and now they want to talk to the rest of us who called it out years ago. Tell us about our communities in places like Portland or Seattle that were ravaged by amoral tech types who didn’t realize the communities were healthy building Boeing planes.

Domain knowledge is a thing. You can be a tech Titan, a VC God - and be a total fucking moron on politics, and allow your entire community to become unlivable. And you can mostly ignore the damage you’ve done by living part time in Italy.

And then you move to Austin TX and expect to be celebrated, when the locals know you are a rich moron with a horse farm who will fuck up the community that created the conditions you wanted, which you escaped from in SF. ‘Jason’ is basically a cancer in Texas.
