3/3 Plus, with the growth in demand for #agrivoltaics, solar developers want to support agriculture, especially sheep grazing, that helps their bottom lines and ranchers. Sheep are a win-win for ranchers and the climate!
1/ Props to @RepBlakeMoore for standing up for Utah lamb producers facing unfair competition from overseas producers. Not only is a healthy sheep industry good for rural livelihoods, but it's also critical for our nation's growing solar industry. https://t.co/n5RiUgI79W
2/ Over the last 50 years, we've killed our wool & lamb industry by allowing overseas competitors to undercut local producers. It's ludicrous that only 30% of the lamb consumed in the US comes from in-country ranchers. But we can bring it back with smart trade policy.
I’ve dedicated 15 years of my 25-year life to the conservative movement.
I’ve endured blood, sweat, and tears to defend conservative values.
But I don’t vote for climate deniers. https://t.co/yViYuiCtTU
.@fstockman raising all the right concerns about implementation of the #IRA benefiting those communities that are typically shut out & need help to access the resources.
Let's add: rural places.

Throwing the town most supportive of protecting public lands in southeast UT under the bus for what should be a win-win land trade benefiting #BearsEars just isn't right.

A huge land swap between Utah and the feds is about to go down, making Bears Ears NM whole, while facilitating uranium/lithium and other development on land in Utah (while screwing over the town of Bluff). My rundown: https://t.co/PdjvbCb0O7
Rural & tribal communities stand to gain enormously from the savings & mobility benefits of electric vehicles but are often left out of funding and outreach efforts. Was honored to moderate a fun discussion on rural EV uptake at #RoadmapForth with key voices from the field!
Props to @climateone for bringing on conservative voices, like my Congressman @RepJohnCurtis, to talk about finding common ground on climate solutions. We need more conversations about what we can accomplish together if we get partisanship out of the way! https://t.co/9FoPlDYhhk
Recently had the honor to join Anthony Flaccavento on his Two Worlds, One Country podcast to talk about connecting with rural folks on climate solutions, meeting people where they're at, and treating folks with respect. 👂👇

@RepJohnCurtis on energy/climate:
"There are many areas of agreement between those of us on the right & on the left . . . We spend too much of our time in the areas where we disagree."
+1 for leaders who actually listen for agreement & urge action on common ground!
Both sides agree on the need for clean energy & addressing emissions in tackling climate change.
Let's work together to find solutions that benefit everyone and are affordable, reliable, and clean.
Renewable energy as farm diversification: "For Duane Hinchley, the writing is increasingly on the wall for farmers as they are challenged to say financially and operationally viable." Research-in-progress finds stories like this...

As people struggle with high #food costs, #Yara - the world’s no.2 #fertiliser company - just reported a record $5bn in #profits for 2022, up 77%. Why? “Improved margins with higher selling prices more than offset increased production costs”. @IPESfood@_RajPatel@foodtank@IATP
@postgreen Not all soybeans, wheat, veggies, or beef are created climate equal! I hope future reporting helps folks understand that people have the power to support a climate-friendly food system when they make choices around how food is produced...not just what food is grown.
Is anyone else flabbergasted @postgreen didn't even mention regenerative agriculture & extensive research (and IPCC reports) demonstrating that how food is produced dramatically affects its climate impact? No mention of GHG impact of agrichemicals either!
