RQT geographer @UnitedLearning PGCE with distinction @GeogEdMMU 1st class BA (Hons) Geography graduate from @livunigeog #geographyteacher @The_GA member
@MissHeywood3 I’m an NQT running a geog club at lunchtime where we watch and discuss geography-related films/shows, use VR goggles for virtual field trips, make paper models and am organising a UN style climate change debate for this term too
@lovetogeog We’re the same but counting glues can be disruptive so we’ve put the responsibility on the students to bring a glue in themselves as part of their basic equipment like bringing in their red pen or exercise book since it’s probably not just geog where they’ll need it
Wrapping up #climatechange by hooking Year 9 with an image former Maldivian President Nasheed working underwater. Great first attempt at a question grid and getting them to answer their own questions by the end of the lesson @WilliamHulmes
Another enthusiastic Worldwide Geography club this week @WilliamHulmes with students making models of the Earth and volcanoes!! Students weren’t sure if pronouncing or folding the Rhombicuboctahedron was the like difficult task outstanding cutting and sticking all round
Examining the causes of uneven development with 11A this morning and encouraging to see they are more confident with assessing the most influential cause and backing up their opinion #aqageography#changingeconomicworld
Worldwise geography club returns this week @WilliamHulmes with a quiz on countries, flags and fast facts for KS3. With the results from today we’re hoping to form a team to take on the @gamcrbranch WWQ over the next few years
Most definitely bought more and read less books than I’d planned to this half term holiday...guess my evenings are going to be all BOOKED up now, I brought this on mySHELF #pageturners#readtosucceed#nqt#worklifebalance
Ran our first #geographyclub@WilliamHulmes today. Really enjoyable and interesting to find out where our students and their families are from, where they have visited and what their aspirations are of exploring places around the world
Had a wonderful first GA conference as a trainee, and cannot wait for the next one (hopefully) as an NQT. Lots of fantastic ideas that I can’t wait to try and incorporate into my lessons, and lots of freebies to go through! Thanks @The_GA for an informative conference #GAconf19
Excellent resource to highlight wealth inequalities, particularly in developing parts of the world. Year 9 were gobsmacked by the number of billionaires in Asia and Africa alongside such poverty that they were familiar with.
Haven’t given my phone number out to so many people in long while #nosatinf#oioi#lonely but networking is to incredibly valuable and useful for future career prospects. Thank you @GeogEdMMU for the opportunity to network
