Progress Update on #DataTable component we have been working on, during product discovery we stumbled upon on a great idea. The component shouldn't just give frontend functionality, but also should have backend package which can be installed and configured. It should be open source.
To use it, one has to install frontend react component and backend Javascript or @laravelphp package. In backend you need to express your data model using json files (which we are calling as locospec). We went with json because if you just copy those json files into javascript, or tomorrow Go environment, it should still work.
Behind the scenes update:
- Table by default has Infinite scroll with cursor pagination (best for performance)
- Handles search
- Handle dependent/linked dropdowns (I think my fav feature)
- You can resize, reorder, hide columns
- Make custom views (another fav feature)
- Add custom columns
Usually building such a component takes lot of effort in backend and frontend, soon we hope to challenge that notion.
We've been using JSONs to represent our data models for about three years now, performing CRUD actions on them. We at @betalectic have utilized this specification to create backend APIs, frontend forms, and data tables. We've developed full-stack web and mobile apps, and API-first products with it.
We're excited to share that we've started working on open-sourcing the spec #locospec and its implementation, first for #Laravel
@elonmusk I believe we both love twitter. It would great if you are able to outsource to us, any part of app development/engineering - we would go hard core on it. Please contact us for more info or let us know how to show our interest @betalectic

It's time backend frameworks embed more business-friendly strategies, so developers know what rules the business insists. We hope PAHR and Nobe take this one small step closer.

Enforcing a deadline—even end of Sprint—for a fixed scope is always a bad idea. If time is fixed, scope must vary. Work small. Work on the most valuable thing first. Change scope as required.
The bar is not as high as you think.
You can:
- get that job
- meet that person
- start that company
But because you think the bar's so high, you won't even try. Which is why the bar’s so low!
Implemented Redux-dynamic-modules on a Gatsby project. The evident benefits:
- cleaner directory structure
- code-splitting at the store level
- on demand store integration and removal
- easy integration with Redux-saga and redux-persist.
will share a working example soon.
