Over 20 @smh articles say $8 billion is "rorted" from Medicare each year - but what is the evidence behind this figure? @toriberquist & I tried to find it but it was nowhere to be seen. Our piece @theMJA: https://t.co/8bA63dTPIJ @brookmanknight@MJA_Editor @coopesdetat
The EMUGs Northern Territory Team ran a fantastic POCUS Workshop on Saturday in Darwin. Thank you to our stellar organising team and instructor group, some of whom travelled up from Melbourne and Perth, as well as our sponsors.

Unfortunately all my residents this term want to do Infectious Diseases as a career, so to curb their misguided enthusiasm *someone* has been taking the liberty of putting b̶a̶d̶ great antibiotic advice posters around the Neuro office, enjoy 😂 #stewardship
In 2019 I delivered online tutorials and I thought I was brilliant.
But the student feedback said that I was...boring.
So I've spent the last 2 years learning, watching others, and studying technique on running online tutorials.
Here are 6 things I learned:

I’m a nurse practitioner working in specialist palliative aged care. Let me share with you just a little bit about what happens in a residential aged care facility/‘nursing home’ that doesn’t have registered nurses 24/7 365 days of the year.

As a trainee we often focus on "getting procedures". As ICU consultant it wouldn't bother me if I never did another ecmo cannulation etc. We add value by leading, cognition, & communication. Our role is in sense making, anticipation/planning, seeing the whole patient, & teaching.
After studying ED teams, I am thrilled to share insights about how they work and some simple hacks to make them even better.
Spoiler alert: psychological safety is what it’s all about - thanks @amyCEdmondson@RoisinODonovan4#RCEMasc@RCEMevents @SocraticEM

Covid zero is unfortunately no longer maintainable for Australia. Our leaders must shift mindsets, maximise vaccination access, sustainable public health measures & make clear to all Australians that the time for vaccination is now. w @BrianFern_@nytimes https://t.co/vKG1J6emlB
Upping Our ECG Game: OMI vs STEMI

ALSO the other best thing about this is that one of my fave colleagues & work BFFs @joshmon_ has also joined and we only just figured it out. 😂 #dreamteam
