@LeftieStats@YouGov Weirdly, this could end up being very good for labour and conservatives in long run. Seeing how reform run Wales, would show voters in the rest of UK why they could expect from a UK reform government.
@10DowningStreet@NetflixUK I enjoyed Adolescence and found it thought provoking and powerful. But… 1) in schools, students should be studying 2) it’s not a documentary it is, ultimately, fiction 3) it’s powerful because adults don’t recognise the world teenagers love in (wrong end of telescope)
Finally, you might be surprised that only 25% have been permanently excused. This is massively higher than in Gen pop, but it’s nowhere near some self reported figures, and nowhere near the % who’ve been frequently absent from school, or who have grown up in poverty.
@CambPressAssess@ocrexams@FT From my quick glance, this looks like a terrible idea. If nothing else, can we please stop saying getting a 3 or below is a fail!
@kateowbridge Nope. There are much more important priorities for schools including recruitment, behaviour and workload. Curriculum change will take hours and hours of teachers time
@bphillipsonMP Curriculum change is not necessary. Resolving workload issues, behaviour and recruitment are. A curriculum overhaul will create hours of work for teachers.
a series of steps titled "How to Instruct" developed during World War II (War Manpower Commission, 1945). It is very similar to the work of Gagne, Hunter, and Good and Grouws. Is this the birthplace of Rosenshine's principles? ;-)
@bphillipsonMP The curriculum does not need reform. Tweaks perhaps but not full scale reform. This was take time away from improving culture, behaviour and teaching and learning
