@vandewallefarm Vast amounts, relatively speaking.
We should be producing it here.
The ethanol producers say the current regs lead to US imports over domestic production because of the favorable US system.
We need to change those rules and get that production back here.
The plot emerges!
Trying some new combinations and varieties of triticale. Also some weed control products to test. Looking forward to yield and sample results next spring.
@calhorst5 Could do a series of nitrate tests pre plant > v4-v8 ish to get a base idea. I was quite surprised at how much nitrate showed up at side dress timing in well manured ground earlier this summer

"AI is inevitable!"
oh sorry big dawg but actually nothing is inevitable as reality is fundamentally contingent and humans are capable of organizing in truly creative and novel ways to create new futures we can't even imagine now, so i'm going to have to disagree.
@israel_brett There are top-dry systems that can be set up with automatic flow, my GSI does anyway, just swapped the circuit board in the control box. They're fairly efficient at a smaller scale from what I've read
@BaumanFb@MvanbommelMikes@DeanPat57613010@MaizeingPete The ministry of transport and health Canada will have their hands full with some of these jokers. There are fantastic operators around, but a few ugly encounters and everyone will know a few federal ministry staff by name by end of season
So many opportunities ahead in this space
Organic + polycropping + autonomy
Aggregate yield advantages
System think efficiency
Responsible water shed, soil stewardship.
With the proper equipment… and knowledge…weed control, nutrient cycling / creation, profitability will become unmatched with the status quo/ monocrop old system.
@JSCustomFarms Liquid preferred especially if there's a need for sulfur or other nutrients in season plus the incorporation part too
But a bit more crop damage though
@kowalchukfarms1 Depends on the equipment, there's a dealership in the area known for tillage equipment rentals. Great exposure for them and they can essentially charge their future sales leads right off the bat. Probably not a viable model for more complex equipment
