Expanding E15 (ethanol-blended fuels) nationwide would lower gas prices at the pump and open new opportunities for Michigan farmers to sell their crops. Let's get this done!

@robertreese_4 There are also many proactive opportunities that CMPM works on that will require additional funding in the future - building a market for ethanol-based sustainable aviation fuel; maintaining access and building new demand in international markets; and finding new uses for corn.
@robertreese_4 To clarify - MCGA and CMPM are separate organizations. They cooperate, but each addresses different areas. CMPM is the checkoff, and funds research, market development, and education. Lobbying is through MCGA, which is the association and is funded with membership dues.
@robertreese_4 For example: the checkoff helped build the ethanol industry in Michigan. Ethanol has added $0.36 per bushel to the price of corn. But keeping that market going requires continual maintenance - the cost of which has increased drastically since 1993 when the checkoff was formed.
@robertreese_4 CMPM's board of directors decided to initiate a vote on this amendment to try and address the increasing cost of defending the industry as well as the need for funding to invest in new opportunities for future growth. CMPM's board is made up of farmers from across the state.
Dr. Kurt Thelen brought teachers data and clear explanations about why it is so important that teachers equip students to feed and fuel the world during our professional learning event today at @MSU_PSM@MI_corn@Nationalcorn @Unitedsoy @USDA_NIFA@educationproj@GLBioenergy
Yesterday we visited @addie_maize to check out the corn nursery where they're creating seed that will be used to answer next year’s research questions. Controlling pollination keeps the seed pure so we know we're doing research on the right varieties. #corn#research@CANRatMSU
Enjoyed seeing many MABA members in the crowd and exhibit hall at the Great Lakes Crop Summit today. Great job on this year’s event by @MI_Corn, @MichiganSoybean & #MichiganWheat! #GLCS2023
