The Greens are fundamentally a petit bourgeois party, for better or for worse. That isn't a slur; it just illustrates their social origins and the social forces they represent. It doesn't matter how much ZP tries to butter up the trade union bureaucracy (seemingly he has stopped trying anyway); the party's historic origins will haunt it without an historic transformation of its structures and programme. We will see where the Greens end up.
