It has been an incredible journey, but I have decided to retire from all cricket.

Ever since the back yard matches with my older brothers, I have played the game with pure enjoyment and unbridled enthusiasm. Now, at the age of 37, that flame no longer burns so brightly.

@timkellernyc Really helpful as a university student as these theories are discussed regularly. So good to gain a solid biblical framework on the matter... I appreciate your work!

[Joshua van Rhyn @joshua_rhyn]

@DrAIWilson @RebeccMcLaugh @Logos Thank you! Glad that my studying procrastination on Twitter has actually amounted to something...

[Joshua van Rhyn @joshua_rhyn]

David Miller has been an absolute beast in the field today 😍 #SAvsAus

@AlpaMoha10 @ManUtd Winning the league and still obsessed with United, the state of Liverpool fans 😭😭

[Manchester United @ManUtd]

Manchester United is delighted to announce it has reached agreement with Sporting Clube de Portugal for the transfer of Bruno Fernandes.

The deal is subject to a medical and the agreement of personal terms.

A further announcement will be made in due course.

Context .. 33 degree heat.. high humidity.. flat pitch ... not given new ball .. gets England captain .. best ball of the day ... shows a bit too much emotion. Result Wanderers test will be poorer for no Rabada .. ps I know he has previous !

[Joshua van Rhyn @joshua_rhyn]

@TheUOpinionist @ICC By giving out demerit points for the most interesting moment in an otherwise boring test! This is turning viewers away from the sport, not widening the audience... Cricket is meant to be played by real people with real emotions and @ICC is trying to change that

[Joshua van Rhyn @joshua_rhyn]

@ICC is actively trying to kill test cricket by banning Rabada... How is celebrating a much needed wicket with passion worth a demerit point? Honestly, who is getting paid to make these absurd decisions! They are trying to suck the life out of the game. #SAvsENG #rabada

[Joshua van Rhyn @joshua_rhyn]

@DanRushton @ShameIessFC @MichaelVaughan If you're an average watcher and not an avid cricket fan, then yes! And unfortunately there aren't enough avid cricket fans to keep test cricket alive, we need to draw more people into watching the game and banning the best players for the best moments isn't going to do that!

[Joshua van Rhyn @joshua_rhyn]

@TheUOpinionist @ICC No wonder your name is the unpopular opinionist, because that might be the worst opinion I've ever heard

[Joshua van Rhyn @joshua_rhyn]

@ShameIessFC @MichaelVaughan I have played cricket, I psychological warfare is a part of every sport! Why do you think the game is played by humans and not robots. The best test players are not just good cricketers, but are mentally strong. It won't matter if the game stays pretty when it's dead

[Michael Vaughan @MichaelVaughan]

Rabada getting a 1 game ban for celebrating taking the Wicket of the opponents best player is absolutely bonkers ... Over rates & slow play nothing gets done ... Celebrate a wicked and you are banned ... The World is bloody nuts ... #SAvENG
