struggle to think of any previous host nation which has compromised the sporting integrity of the world cup to the extent the US has with the conditions they imposed upon the iranian side. should never be allowed to host again
¿EE.UU.? ¡No sé!
Héctor Bellerín @HectorBellerin has once again used his voice for Palestine, reminding us football can be a powerful platform to send positive messages.
He also pointed to FIFA’s double standards. Football stood with Ukraine, but failed to do the same for Palestine.
I can think of one very striking, very pertinent example of a team that very seriously compromises the idea that 'all teams, in every match, are playing under the same conditions.' You don't get to suddenly pretend that is a priority for FIFA. Just resign.
So many incredible storylines at the World Cup but the stoicism and dignity of this man’s tribute to a national leader assassinated with the connivance of the CIA is maybe my favorite
🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: According to a university study, people who prefer Lionel Messi are more likely to have LEFT-WING political views, while people who prefer Cristiano Ronaldo are more likely to have RIGHT-WING political views.
The study found that Messi fans are generally more progressive and analytical, while Ronaldo fans are generally more conservative and place a higher value on authority.

this is honestly an excellent celebratory and motivational speech from Mamdani at the Knicks parade. i'm ready to run through a wall, and i'm not even a Knicks fan
Jokes aside, there’s no reason a team should go into a World Cup as one of the favourites then build their team around a 41-year-old desperate for a heroic ending.
What we have watched, is definitive history. This is the beginning of the end of all debate. In this competition, by the end of it, nobody should ever question whether Lionel Messi is the greatest footballer of all time. It’s like watching the Magna Carta being signed.
