Incredible @AEW show in Portland last night. I’ve gone to almost every wrestling event in that building since roughly 1991 and I can’t think of a better one.
@BillSimmons and Nick Kahn saying people don’t go to restaurants anymore because now they have personal chefs is quite a take. Two self-made men who clearly have forgotten how the other 99% live.
#OnThisDay in 1997: WWF RAW: Since he’s already been Intercontinental champion, Steve Austin doesn’t really care because now the only title he’s interested in is the WWF title. Austin forfeits the IC title and hands it over to The Rock.
DTA, ROCK. DON’T TRUST ANYBODY.
The industry lost a man today that redefined what success could look like in Pro Wrestling. This post is to acknowledge Hulk Hogan's contributions to the industry, which are difficult to put into adequate words. Terry Bollea made personal choices that earned him understandable criticism, but I'm not here to weigh in on that. As someone who has put food on the table from pro wrestling for twenty years, I believe it is necessary to take a moment to recognize the importance of Hulk Hogan and Hulkamania to our business. He pulled the wagon and brought a ton of people with him. Brought wrestling into the cable TV era, changed the game for the way performers could monetize their talent. Put simply, he showed us what was possible.
Also, he represents my childhood, and millions of others. That deserves recognition.
RIP Hulk Hogan.
@DKThomp love your podcasts. The most recent one about tariffs caught my attention. Doesn’t it make sense that average cost of goods has gone up? Foreign made goods rise in price, raising the average, but encouraging consumers to buy American made goods. Increasing US business.
BREAKING: Nine-time NBA All-Star Damian Lillard is finalizing a three-year, $42 million contract to return to the Portland Trail Blazers, sources tell ESPN. Deal is expected to include a player option in 2027-28 and a no-trade clause. A storybook reunion home for the 35-year-old.
@CHass33 He’s a small guy, maybe he got worried because of his injury and didn’t want to be like Isaiah Thomas? Just took the guaranteed money now. That’s literally the only thing I could imagine.
