Bad move on your friend's part... Should've taken the job as-offered and then busted his butt over the next year to show them why he should get a raise. If they refused the raise after that year he at least has recent job history...and moving to a new job over pay isn't exactly new. In any event, sorry for your buddy.
@RiseOfAlberta Yes I do. As an American, I wish our own gov't would make support of Alberta independence more visible. I also support Alberta joining the USA if that's what the citizens of Alberta want.
Don't know where you live, but trespassing with a firearm is automatic call to LE around here or other stuff. Lots of states, like Idaho, do not require posting signage. Given the state of technology (such as OnX, Gaia, others...), a person is expected to know WTF is up. Granted, those apps aren't perfect...but they're usually very good in my experience.
@Hebrews12v2 In your establishment process... if any Dr, via the intake paperwork, asks questions about firearms or any other stuff that's not their business...walk out.
FWIW, I used Grok today to write backup and restoration scripts for my Brave installs. Apparently this backup/restore functionality isn't built-in (?). I really like the independent bash script approach; however, I think others would really like comprehensive backup/restore functionality that's built-in. I use Linux Mint.
Here in the intermountain west, I use Cyper WP for carpenter ants. Has worked GREAT. Also, incredible for yellow jacket/bald faced hornet nests...but does NOT provide for quick knockdown with those little devils...so plan your application/exit strategy accordingly. It will kill a nest pretty quick...but not in seconds. For sheltered, outside areas I like a Wettable Powder....but it likes agitation during application.
For 2025 (full year data from Shelter Animals Count's annual report):Total dogs and cats euthanized: Approximately 597,000 (a slight ~1-2% decrease from 2024).
Dogs: ~320,000.
Cats: ~277,000.
Citation: These numbers provided by Grok.
F PETA. They need to stay in their lane and help reduce the above numbers...which DO NOT include numbers from private vet practices.
@HAFNUT91@Arcfunmi Looks kinda Ok...but without sleepers and proper drainage/water handling behind the wall, it's probably gonna move. Those things can be remedied during the building process, though...so might be worth doing a test section to check for durability.
@Polymarket I live not real far from this deposit and this is not new info. And it's not under a volcano. It's where the Yellowstone hotspot was some millions of years ago in northern NV, IIRC.
I use both Brave and Firefox on Linux Mint. I like both browsers but would give the edge (no pun) to Brave. My understanding is that Brave uses the Chromium browser engine...so one has access to the Chrome Store for extensions. Still plenty of extensions for Firefox, though. Brave, arguably, seems to have generated some privacy concerns...but so has Mozilla/Firefox.
Of course, it'd be considered racist these days, but, "Learn from Confucius, but in an hour you'll be stupid again," was very memorable MAD content. BTW, I forget the exact wording but this is the jist of one of the most unforgettable quotes from MAD. Since I find that funny, it probably means I'm a racist. But I'm also a Boomer and couldn't care less.
@nebadom Good points, but much of what you (and many other people) don't like about current vehicles sold in the USA is mandated by the government. And then there's the mandated junk under the hood... argh...
