Ce tweet résume parfaitement ce qu’est devenu le débat footballistique moderne :

des supporters qui se comportent comme des départements communication (de bas étage) au lieu d’analyser les matchs.

Le PSG peut avoir mérité sa qualification ET le Bayern peut légitimement se plaindre de plusieurs décisions arbitrales sur 180 minutes. Ces deux idées ne sont pas incompatibles.

Ce qui est fatigant, c’est cette manière systématique de reformuler les événements :

– les décisions favorables deviennent du “football normal”
– les décisions défavorables deviennent des “excuses”
– des situations interprétables deviennent soudainement des vérités absolues parce que “4 arbitres à la télé ont confirmé” (je vous trouve 4 avis contraires sans souci)
Et surtout, le problème n’est jamais une seule énorme erreur. Les supporters du Bayern parlent d’une accumulation sur les deux matchs :
– incident Mendes
– incident Neves
– Beraldo sur Diaz
– coup de sifflet anticipé sur Kane
– seuil de faute incohérent
– corner inexistant sur le but de Neves
– situation Davies / main

C’est exactement comme ça que les biais d’arbitrage sont ressentis dans le football moderne : rarement par un immense scandale évident, mais par une succession de petites asymétries qui influencent le rythme, les transitions, les cartons et la dynamique psychologique du match.

Et le plus ironique dans tout ça, c’est que la VAR était censée réduire les polémiques grâce à la cohérence. En réalité, elle a surtout remplacé certaines erreurs objectives par des débats infinis sur l’interprétation et le “threshold”.
Résultat : chacun utilise désormais des ralentis et des pseudo-arguments réglementaires pour défendre ce qu’il croyait déjà émotionnellement avant même le match.
Le football commence à ressembler à la politique :
les gens ne regardent plus les faits pour construire une opinion.
Ils sélectionnent les faits qui protègent leur identité de supporter.
Et honnêtement, si exactement les mêmes actions avaient eu lieu avec les maillots inversés, 90% des positions auraient été inversées aussi.
Ce qui prouve que le débat n’est presque jamais réellement sur l’arbitrage.
Il est sur l’appartenance.

Now the Hanavirus thing happened and I originally thought the same thing.. but now I’m seeing the very same playbook playing out, exactly as it did with Covid..

Let’s look at a Quick Timeline of Events based on media reports:

April 6, 2026: A 70-year-old Dutch passenger gets sick (fever, headache, stomach issues) on the MV Hondius.
April 11: He dies on board.
April 12–24: Ship stops at St. Helena. The man’s wife and about 29–40 other passengers disembark and fly home. The wife later collapses in Johannesburg and dies — confirmed hantavirus.

Mid-to-late April: Two more passengers (British man and German woman) fall ill. The British man is evacuated critically ill; the German woman dies on May 2.
Early May: Ship’s doctor gets very sick and is evacuated. More people on board show symptoms.

Then Tests confirm Andes hantavirus — the supposed only strain that can spread person-to-person in close proximity.

Now (May 7, 2026): At least 7–8 cases total (some confirmed, some suspected), 3 deaths. The ship is anchored off Cape Verde with medical teams on board.

Let let alot of these passengers off the boat, and put them back into society. And now… “Contact tracing” is underway for everyone who left the ship early throughout Europe…
