Am I the only one who’s noticed how the language and expectations around the quarterback position have completely changed?

When Gabriel was drafted and immediately took first-team reps, the only standard was steady improvement. Yet after six full regular-season games, he didn’t improve—he got worse.

And even as he struggled, the so-called analysts kept insisting that Gabriel simply needed more time to develop. They argued there was “no real alternative” anyway, because—according to them—Shedeur wasn’t “ready” and was supposedly too far “behind” Gabriel.

Shedeur’s situation is the opposite.

He had zero first-team reps until Gabriel’s injury, and after just one full game and half of another, the expectations are suddenly much different—much higher.

Now it’s not about “improvement,” it’s about winning - right now.

Anything less, and people start mentioning a move back to QB2.

Gabriel was allowed time while regressing. Shedeur is expected to elevate the team instantly despite limited preparation.
