@fredfertang @JohnStone36@wheeble The gentleman answering the call here is the former Sindh province batsman (between 1936-37 & 1947-48) of erstwhile Undivided India, Daud Khan (b. 1912, d. 21.6.79, both at Karachi) who subsequently officiated in 14 tests between 1955 & 1973 all in Pakistan post-independence.
@fredfertang @DrNaumanNiaz Have seen a smaller version (edited, now I suppose) of this pic before, and today, I am humbled to see that both the umpires, too, happen to be a part of this long-shot frame. Enlarging a bit, I reckon umpire Jordan (left) leaving the field with umpire Walcott. Thanks for upload.
@DrNaumanNiaz Sir, by any chance, have you ever seen the picture of umpire HD Bird trimming SM Gavaskar's hairs at Old Trafford in 1974? I had seen it in a regional magazine, but unfortunately it went afloat with all my collections, never to get it back again!
@BSNLCorporate Kindly let me know the status of the Refund sanction order no.
I-1YL1S-994 dt 20.02.2021
for Rs 2817/- pertaining to surrendering our existing LL phone in the month of Jan. 2021 against an alternative FTTH connection. The refund has not been credited yet in the Bank A/c.
@fredfertang Am I correct to presume that the umpire here is John Langridge? Nonetheless, with a smile in his face, he, too, seems to enjoy the happenings.
@allanholloway@gulu1959@PictureSporting So, on the ground of 'conflict of interest' he was not allowed to 'stand' in that test. We will, perhaps, never know what the specific reason was for Tarrant not being selected in that third test.
@allanholloway@gulu1959@PictureSporting It is an established fact that Tarrant was an 'employee' of the Maharaja of Patiala. In that final test at Madras, Yuvraj of Patiala (Maharaja's son) was included in the Indian squad.
@sarastro77 @DerbyshireCCC The umpires who officiated the Gentlemen vs Players match at Lord's 1930 were A Morton and HI Young (and not M Young) - as mentioned in the fifth and last picture. Please clarify. Thanks.
Middlesex team, 1894. Can anyone please help to identify the players, if possible? Am looking for a picture of JAE Hickson who played for them in handful of matches: 2 in 1894 & 1 in 1896. Prior to that he played for Transvaal in 1890, and also stood in a 'test' in 1889 in SA.
