The first time President Obama met with his US Attorneys, he told us, “I appointed you but you don’t serve me. You serve the American people. And I expect you to act with independence & integrity.” None of us ever forgot that.
Trump’s war. An unnecessary war. A vanity war. And we are all so worse off in so many ways, but the deaths of these American soldiers & the fact that the administration tried to avoid responsibility for them breaks my heart for their families & the people they served with.
The number of U.S. service members reported wounded or killed in the Iran war has jumped to 774, after the Pentagon added scores of new troops to the wounded list in the last few days. https://t.co/b0gFnPFNib
.@JoyceWhiteVance: "The report is just another indication we are living with a desperate administration trying to convince Americans not to trust their own elections." https://t.co/PAYamLSKBu #UnitedStates
Trump: It's so sad you know, you meet people and you love people—her name is Karoline and she just had a baby, and I just learned she loves the baby more than she loves Donald Trump, and I'm very angry.
Friday evening, @AriMelber flagged this piece on the Beat. Trump is desperate to rewrite history, and that includes trying to make his loss in the 2020 election go away. But he’s also getting ready for 2026 & it’s important we all know what that’s going to look like. https://t.co/IE3wBMHiLR
@JohnQBarrett@peterbakernyt@amarimow The question is whether this is a couple of days to let the Court issue a decision or de facto permission to complete the project. Normally, an administrative stay wouldn’t bother me. Here, I’m less sure.
This is really outrageous. Not only did a judge find probable cause to believe that sensitive national defense documents would be found at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, the documents were actually found!

JUST IN: A new Judiciary Dems report exposes how Trump has sidelined the traditional DOJ clemency process and replaced it with a pay-to-play system in which wealthy criminals use political contributions, Trump family business ties, and well-connected MAGA insiders to secure presidential pardons.
JUST IN: Trump administration declares structure of Foreign Service in place since 1980 is unconstitutional intrusion on presidential power. DOJ's busy Office of Legal Counsel says Secretary of State has to have final say on discipline. Doc: https://t.co/DFVOKttjIX
JUST IN: 2nd Circuit rules 2-1 that Rick Sarcone was illegally appointed as interim U.S. attorney when he obtained grand jury subpoenas related to Letitia James.
Majority: Calabresi (Clinton), Kahn (Biden)
Dissent: Park (Trump) https://t.co/2SXJC1aj3W
NEW: As you know, I FOIA'd the initial Epstein redaction training materials. Last month, the FBI admitted they have them but refuse to hand them over. Today, DOJ goes further, saying the training videos "have a combined length of one hour, 13 minutes, and 14 seconds." DOJ now wants an additional three months to write a declaration describing the content of the training videos they've admitted to having. They say they need more time because everyone is suing them. I'll have more when we file our joint status report tomorrow.
2/ Earlier this week, Trump touted a report supposedly based on census data that made major claims about non-citizen voting in the 2020 election. They too are lies. I explain that here and also, why the administration is so desperate to perpetuate these stories ahead of the midterms. https://t.co/3zCnR06JRd
1/ Yesterday, The New York Times confirmed the administration lied when it made claims about large numbers of non-citizens voting in Nevada. https://t.co/pJCT8Zdgvm
Trump says a new report proves 24,000 noncitizens voted illegally in 2020. It doesn’t. The real story here is less about what the report says and why the Trump administration needs it—desperately—now. https://t.co/z1bihzj7Yi
