On this date in 1968, Senator Robert F. Kennedy (NY), moments after claiming victory in California's Democratic Party presidential primary, was shot. He died the next day. He was 42 years old.

Jackson served, as RFK did later, as U.S. Attorney General.

E. Barrett Prettyman, Jr., a great lawyer and person, was an important aide to each of them.

Hostility to some of Justice Gorsuch’s thinking is hostility to him sometimes seeing and standing up for aspects of the Declaration’s and the Constitution’s liberalism, egalitarianism, and antiracism. These (MAGA?) critics’ creeds run against those values.
