Several of the bioethicists involved in creating Ontario’s critical care “triage” tool have written an article in @HealthyDebate https://t.co/KykO5Zerux
Is this why my Enbridge Bill just went up $70.00 a month with no warning? Some seniors on fixed incomes may lose their homes. Nationalize the energy industry!
@JoelHardenONDP They said the 5% increase was to begin in September, however, the deposit at the end of August for September hasn't increased. So it isn't beginning in September but in October. Another bold faced lie! It's going to be a long 1364 days until the next election☹️
Correction, those 1100 people are people with developmental disabilities who are under 65. There are about 3000 more ppl with other disabilities under 65 currently placed in #LTC
If Ford won't have hearings on Bill 7, we will. @OntarioNDP is hosting an emergency public hearing on Monday at 9 am. #LTC advocates have the opportunity to raise concerns about the harmful effects Bill 7 will have on #seniors.

@PJillIrwin@JoAnneBeggsRSW@OntarioHealthC Any person, not just any elder, can be on the brink of becoming an ALC patient. Anyone is one accident, stroke, or disease away from being in that bed. Everyone needs to be enraged by this. Where are all the freedom protesters now that real freedoms are being taken away? #onpoli
5% doesn't cut it. Then adding future increases to inflation means more legislated poverty. When will people living with disabilities stop being devalued. We contribute to society we deserve to be respected and not forced to live in poverty because of disability. It could be you
I want to reaffirm my commitment to fighting for persons w/ disabilities in Ontario.
We need to double #ODSP & prioritize the implementation of the Accessibility for Ontarians w/
Disabilities Act.
I will hold the Ford govt accountable until it is done.

I meant to add,..wish so much that CTV didn't block streaming. Haven't been able to watch for so long. Miss CTV, but not willing to be forced to buy a tv subscription. Enough other options. You lose CTV.
I wish more folks understood disabilities can happen at any time in a person's life. They can be temporary, episodic, or permanent, while varying in severity. When you are not prioritizing accessibility, you are excluding people, whether you realize it or not.
An all too real experience for so many. And then they are seen as "problem" people when they advocate strongly. #Caregivers are an extremely important sector in society but rarely respectfully acknowledged.
A challenge for #Caregivers who also have paid jobs is that they often have to quit/retire to be able to manage their #Caregiving responsibilities & in turn lose their income, possibly some benefits and their career aspirations.
My brother's #LTC managed to keep #COVID at bay all this time, but now, more and more residents are contracting #COVID. My brother now has #COVID...in my opinion, no lockdowns in #LTC are going to stop the spread when there are no more restrictions for the other citizens.
I will never accept the excuse that "we don't have enough resources" to eradicate poverty when billionaires are trying to colonize space. We lack the will, not the resources.
I want to reaffirm my commitment to fighting for persons w/ disabilities in Ontario.
We need to double #ODSP & prioritize the implementation of the Accessibility for Ontarians w/
Disabilities Act.
I will hold the Ford govt accountable until it is done.

There are no “special” needs, there are just needs. As people we have many needs in common, but we also have specific needs as individuals that others might not. They’re not special. They’re just needs. And they ALL deserve to be met. #onpoli
Reality check: With voter turnout dropping to 43%, just 17.8% of Ontario’s total eligible voters actually voted for the Conservatives, who now have 100% control of the province for 4 more years. If that doesn’t tell you our democracy is broken, I don’t know what will. #onpoli
Many thanks to all the candidates who put their name forward. Public life is never easy! Congratulations to those who were victorious yesterday. Please, please, please could the legislature truly be the house where we come together to serve ALL!
