To hopefully put minds at rest about Ryanair/EasyJet passport rules - I just flew on four flights (2 Ryanair, 2 EasyJet) with less than 6 but more than 3 months left on my passport. Not a question asked. Lots of scaremongering going on. It was fine.

[Joy Rooney @joyusoccasion]

@Gurpsdan Enjoy your holiday!

[Joy Rooney @joyusoccasion]

@Gurpsdan Thank you so much for letting m know. ☺️

[Joy Rooney @joyusoccasion]

@SimonCalder lovely bit of misinformation from @TheSun this morning. Only perpetuating the panic. https://t.co/XBNsBsEMqg

[Joy Rooney @joyusoccasion]

@Gurpsdan @askryanair @Ryanair I managed to get this information out of them if it’s any help. I’m in a similar situation travelling to France on Friday. Keeping my fingers crossed there’s no issues 🤞🏼

[Joy Rooney @joyusoccasion]

@jengeorgie @SimonCalder @Ryanair @easyJet This is my concern. I’m hoping having it in writing from them might help. So silly when legally my passport is valid anyway!

[Joy Rooney @joyusoccasion]

Anyone flowed recently on @Ryanair or @easyJet with 5 and 1/2 months left on passport? Heading to EU and rules state 3 months. But both airlines ask for 6. Contacted customer services and they said they only follow rules of the country. Will I be ok? @SimonCalder

[Joy Rooney @joyusoccasion]

@two_edwards @easyJet @SimonCalder @Ryanair Date of issue - 18th Sept 2012, Expiry Nov 2022. So I’m hoping still 10 years in date until Sept 2022.

[Joy Rooney @joyusoccasion]

@SimonCalder @Ryanair @easyJet Thank you. So given an issue date of Sept 2012 I should be ok for travel and return in April 2022?? Keeping everything crossed 🤞🏼

[Joy Rooney @joyusoccasion]

@two_edwards @easyJet @SimonCalder @Ryanair Thanks everyone. Oh no! Sorry to hear that. I wonder if this was to do with the EU 3 month requirement?
My understanding is if I’m due to return April 2022 and my issue was Sept 2012 I should be ok?? Is that correct?

[Joy Rooney @joyusoccasion]

@lucyw916 @CherylWE1984 @Ryanair Hi, just following this. Did you both manage to travel ok? Thanks

@SimonCalder Advice please - I’m due to travel on the 11th -13th April to Hungary. My expiry date (10 years from issue) is 18th Sept 2022. My actual expiry date is 18th November 2022. Lots of articles about easy jet refusing passengers with less than 6 months. Can you help?
