There has been a defining shift in MLS roster building strategy this winter that should be the story so far of 2024. It is a smart shift that is likely to change the makeup of the league for the next few years for the better.
Why are MLS clubs now buying 24-26 year olds? 🧵
Jim Curtin will succeed wherever he goes, and anyone with an open position should call him first. At the same time, the Union are poised to feature an unprecedented generation of homegrown talent if they lean into it.
I have no inside info on this, but I suspect the departure of Jim Curtin signals a true push by the Union to become the development club in the U.S. They have the talent ready, and it was a question of running it back again one more time or starting on the next era.
I'm very happy that the USMNT hired Pochettino, but I maintain Nancy was a great option and I hope that he remains in the game in the US long enough to be our coach in the future. What a transformational talent...
At this moment where I think we’re going to have a cascade of Pochettino to US reports. I know nothing but there’s a ton of smoke and I’m just guessing…
If you can get a Pochettino, great. But Nancy is an incredible manager and the USMNT would be lucky to have him. I hope we don't overlook him just to have someone not MLS based.
