Hi @searchliaison@JohnMu ! I always thought queries in GSC were only searches by users?
Is there a chance it also contains other crawled data?
Seeing lots of clicks and impressions for strings that don't look like search queries
@brodieseo When I think of ecom SEO, you have been top of mind lately! Curious your thoughts here (although this may not be ecom related hah)
I got this SERP doing some "cart" searches/test
Have you ever seen site operators work like this? Interesting what sites appear #seo
@localseoguide saw your keyword overlapping LinkedIn post! Curious if you have seen anything like this in your testing? I think it was a bug since I can't reproduce it again, but it's still very interesting
@darth_na Love this
Many dev teams really want to understand why they are doing something since it will take away time from something else. They have to report to someone and often they are asked why they did an update and how it's benefiting the org
@darth_na Very true
I also see studies that miss correlation โ causation
Or trying to apply observations to every situation, when really "it depends"
And I see it on the client side not just in shared case studies but in pitches/presentations. Many "results" are used just to create FUD
A failure loading our robots.txt impacted PLAs
The file is fine and crawls resumed
Google's response was that it is a "requirement" to update our robots.txt file to be
User-agent: Googlebot
Disallow:
Drastic proactive/unrelated move?
#seo@searchliaison@pedrodias@darth_na
@darth_na@searchliaison@pedrodias They wouldn't specify the error but since they recrawled it successfully, thinking it was 5xx or something on their side
We have a very simple robots.txt, with User-agent: * to block internal search + account pages
They cited "requirements" here https://t.co/KhWkZfXdGa
@brodieseo@semrush SEMrush is the only paid tool (+ screaming frog) that I always maintain access too since I've been in SEO
Especially for someone building a team - so many SEOs are familiar with SEMrush that it helps spin up team members to start becoming impactful quickly
Weather impacts everything, even how much *online* shopping we do.
@jp_cardinale, the Director of SEO for Tapestry (Coach, Kate Spade and more) came on our Across the Sky podcast to talk about it.
Oh. John and I graduated from @RutgersUย together, too. ๐
