This idea will cause price inflation worse than COVID; here's why. When the majority of people in a populace are given a supply of new dollars to buy a limited quantity of goods, inflation follows. Think about it. What is the value of money you didn't work for? ZERO. If everyone has received the same amount of money, what makes that new money worth anything? Prices will rise to account for the "free" money.

Do you think Elon is going to want to be paid in dollars that were created ex nihilo by the Fed? I don't think so. He's going to raise his prices to reflect the actual value of the payment he receives. Same goes for your grocer or the hardware store owner or the neighbor selling his house.
