Being a Head Coach is HARD Work.
Many parents do not understand the work it takes.
I have talked to MANY coaches over my career.
Here are 9 Things Coaches Want Parents to Understand.

I’m not an angry person, but seriously, fuck Emmanuel Clase
How do you get banned 80 games for taking steroids, then years later get you and your teammate 65 years in prison over $12,000?
There is a 0% chance he doesn’t have rocks in his head

At @VeloSportsOhio we don’t cut players, we develop them.
My job isn’t to decide who’s good enough.
It’s to help you get better every single day.
A few years ago, I coached a pitcher who was cut from his high school team.
He kept showing up and he kept working.
Five years later, he was drafted by a Major League organization.
That’s what this place is about.
No judgment. Just development.
When you walk through our doors, you’re not being evaluated for a roster spot
you’re being coached for your future. ⚾️

Players wanted him. They stood for him. They pushed for him. Administration responded as such!
It’s amazing what can happen when voices are actually heard and it’s about the athletes and the program!

The best that we can do is just the best we can do.
Only you know if you’re truly doing the best you can do.
We can only play the cards we are dealt, no doubt… but are you doing everything you can to play those cards in the best possible way?
It’s only You vs You, everything else is a distraction.
Students from the CSU DPT and CSD programs provided a Brain Health Clinic to older adults at the Benjamin Rose Salvation Army Community Center. The Clinic encourages older adults to get a hearing screening, socially engage, walk for wellness and consider eating plant-based foods.
This is exactly why I loved playing for @CoachSolly10 at 13.
He doesn’t care what the noise is. He is here to do a job and that is to not only develop players but it’s to change the perception of his players, other coaches and the program as a whole.
Go get em Coach!
Quotes from players/coaches/recruits I’ve heard over the last 6 weeks:
“Coach ______ told me your program isn’t good”
- We’ve been extremely transparent about the past of the program, and we’ve been completely transparent, and proven, it’s different now. We aren’t for everyone. You should go to the program that talked smack on us, because we have zero time and energy for players like you.
“How could you leave your former team for Lorain? That’ll ruin your coaching resume.”
- Lol. Next question. You wouldn’t last or understand the mission we are on as a program if that is your mindset. Something special has been in the works. It’s not easy, but you’re going to wish you were apart of it.
“The perception of the program is too bad. Local players still won’t come to your program.”
- If local players are too worried about a pErCePtIoN then we don’t want those local players to join us. Being worried about that means you’re going to be worried about how others view you and other things outside of your control. Our program doesn’t have the time or energy for players worried about things outside of their control.
We have nothing to hide. We have turned over all stones for all to see. I’m unapologetically honest and real with every player and coach that contacts me. The trait this program doesn’t possess is fakeness. WE ARE NOT FOR EVERYONE. WE ARE NOT EASY. But man it’s special and worth it.
