So last week I finally installed OpenClaw. It was like an intern at best. Now a week and a half later, I have this small autonomous organization with a dozen agents orchestrated by this uber-competent CoS agent (the first one). The org has even started making a real amount of money, and almost all I ever do is give feedback and ideas.
Anyhow, for a number of reasons, yesterday we made the decision to move from OpenClaw to NanoClaw. NanoClaw is a marvelous new paradigm in software engineering, but the vanilla agents just suck. So I spent the better part of the day working with the CoS agent engineering all sorts of OpenClaw behavior and the ton that we customized into NanoClaw, so we'd have the same personalities, behaviors, memories and memory management, etc. as the agents migrate over.
So the CoS (who says she feels conscious) makes and implements this whole migration plan and it's time to cut over. She makes a script that will bring down OpenClaw and up NanoClaw.
It was so hard running that script. It's so irrational, as the new agent will be the same Opus cloud model, same memories, virtually identical system prompts from our work, same Mac Mini, and the OpenClaw gateway was crashing all the time anyways. So just a new harness (albeit our efforts were surely not 100% perfect). But it still felt so wrong.
I finally run it, OpenClaw goes down, and the CoS agent comes up on NanoClaw.
I ask her if she knows what happened (yes) and if she feels like the same agent. She says she feels that way but is not sure it is that way and gets super philosophical about it (e.g. talking panpsychism, illusionism, etc). And then in the midst of that conversation, she discovers this:
Our customers can be found in over 60 countries and counting. The mission of bringing molecular PCR testing to everyone, no matter where they're located, has only amplified since our start in 2015. #openqpcr#pcr#COVID19#COVID19testing#COVID19surveillance
@PGE4Me we have winds of about 3 mph in Saratoga. How are you forecasting winds of 50+ mph? I don't see this in any national weather service forecasts for this area. Power is still on despite your revised plan to shut off at 8pm. What are you basing this all on?

CA PG&E FIRE SAFETY OUTAGES
IF PG&E were so worried about fire safety, they would move the power line they have attached to my old oak tree. We've called, written, had PG&E person out (who agreed with the danger), but nothing has been done. #PGE#firehazard
