@vilehousewife I love the Old Stanford so much. There’s no other place I’d prefer to see a classic. I have a mental note for a good portion of my LB watchlist to patiently wait until there’s a listing to see an item there on the big screen.
@firstshowing That’s even more embarrassing, then, if you claim that much experience, yet you don’t even have a correct read on which date counts for awards play and the box office. Or are you just pretending not to know in order to complain about some Letterboxd users?
@firstshowing@CamWalsh27@letterboxd With all due respect, I doubt you understand what “industry standard” means if you’re arguing for a release date measurement that doesn’t count for awards qualification or box office receipts.
@PeteSampson_ Is there a special Peacock tier I can pick up that allows me to mute Jason’s mic from my live stream of the broadcast? I’d pay an extra $30/month for that privilege. This is not a joke.
@StopTweetingMia That's how it was for my entire life until sometime earlier this year.
I think what changed was that we've had an influx of casual moviegoers who skip the preshow and they tend to struggle the most with putting their phone addiction on pause for a few hours.
@VBFK777@AstronomicalBl@Yung_Bankai@55mmbae Yes, most of it was on this site, from people that don't even have the attention span for the movies, and almost all of it came down to whining about the subject matter or CinemaSins-style tallying.
@AstronomicalBl@Yung_Bankai@55mmbae Coincidentally, that reputation developed once it came to pay-per-view— as in, the format conducive to listening to the movie while doing the dishes, or having your phone out in front of the TV. That’s the audience that happened to hate this.
@fanact77@Nightrade97@CoreyAtad Well, she just did, or at least claimed to. This is probably to impress some colleagues who want to claim elitism with one medium over another, which is a pretty immature approach to art.
@filmfae Standard prints are in both flat (as in, close to the digital IMAX ratio of 1.90:1) and anamorphic, at least if I’m going off what the trailers looked like.
