@BullBoss5 “different relationship with comfort, energy” - interesting way of saying that “AC is cost prohibitive in much of EU due to bad energy policy and very old buildings, so we have just gotten used to being miserably hot and convinced ourselves it’s a virtue”
@ProudSocialist Apparently it’s lost on her that the greatest flourishing of humankind also corresponds to the spread of capitalism and market based economies. She’s making the case for capitalism without realizing it.
@DamonBruce It’s bonus bucks. It’s not hard to get crowds on a Friday or Saturday night. You’re welcome for a huge lunch crowd.
Curious, what time are most NFL games played?
@charlieboardman@Knightly_Hist@GlomarResponder That always bothered me. It’s a natural choke point. They cut a hole only big enough for one trooper to enter at a time. How do you miss and not stack bodies in the doorway?
@tbfl141@TrollingMoose@HenryBushnell No cooldown? What do you call the 2 hours they spent in the locker room after the match, before boarding the bus? NFL teams are out of the stadium in less than an hour and on busses and planes immediately after that.
@PeterDiamandis@elonmusk I don’t get it. Who owns the robots doing all of this? Surely they will want some payment for the services of the robots? How much money will be issued and to whom? Who decides? I am not seeing how this gets us beyond supply and demand economics.
@TheJusticeDept When I was taught about Disparate Impact while in college HR classes I was dumbfounded by the incoherent and counterproductive nature of this theory. More frustrating still was that everyone accepted it. Good riddance to an extraordinarily bad doctrine.
@sosumisubmarine@Genuinrisk If you took any existing Ferrari and replaced the ICE drivetrain with EV, it would be a hit. It’s not about “eww EV”. It’s about about “eww, why do they have to make EVs so ugly”
