Lavern Spicer joined Alex Stein and named the operational hypocrisy that has been hiding in plain sight for the entire Don Lemon CNN era. The version of Lemon that goes on television and tells the country 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘪𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮 is the same Lemon who is married to a white man and pretends that contradiction does not exist.

Spicer is naming the broader pattern. The professional-grievance class is statistically over-represented among Black Americans married to white spouses, raising mixed-race children, in majority-white neighborhoods. Their daily life refutes their public thesis.

The mechanism is simple. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭. It sells. It pays. The personal-life decisions that contradict the product are evidence the product is a product, not a sincere belief.

Spicer just put it on national television in plain Black-American voice. The audience should ask the same question of every other grievance figure: 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬? The answer is almost always no.

TONY DOKOUPIL: Finally, tonight from Taiwan: as President Trump and China's Xi Jinping prepare to meet, you will hear a lot about American decline and the rise of a powerful new China. The Chinese certainly believe it. But is it true? Xi’s China is a marvel by many measures, is- is the world's second largest economy, producing almost 30% of the world's manufactured goods. They have high speed rails that put the Acela to shame. And China has lifted millions of its citizens out of poverty, making things like the iPhones in your pocket and mine.
And yet, America remains the innovation hub of the world. Made in China, yes; but designed and invented in the U.S.A. New drugs, new discoveries, new inventions, new space missions. Xi boasts of the country's industrial might, and it's impossible to deny that fact. China's population is in decline, though, well below replacement rates. Unemployment is high with millions in rural provinces living in poverty, and massive housing complexes that now sit empty. Most importantly, and perhaps I'm stating the obvious here, none of these problems are a topic on the Chinese evening news. In fact, pessimism itself is forbidden on the Chinese internet. Tonight at 3am, Spirit turns off the lights. 14,000 jobs gone. 30+ smaller airports lose service.

JetBlue offered $3.8 BILLION in cash to buy Spirit in 2022. Shareholders, flight attendants union, literally everyone voted yes.

The combined company would have held 9% of the US market against a Big 4 that already owned 80%.

For anyone who understands numbers: 9% isn’t a monopoly against 80%.

Warren said no.

She wrote letters. She pressured Buttigieg. Biden’s DOJ sued. A federal judge killed the deal in January 2024.

Her argument: the merger would cost consumers $1 billion a year.

Now look at her collateral damage she dusts under the rug.

510 pilots gone in the months after. 1,800 flight attendants furloughed in December.
