The media will make a big deal about how much closer the TN-7 special was than the Presidential as some kind of referendum, but this is fundamentally dumb. Don't fall for it.
I'm probably the only person who’s going to explain the reality to you and no media outlet is going to have me on, so you'll have to read it right here.
In the 2024 Congressional Election:
A strong long-time incumbent ran with zero primary (Mark Green) and outspent the Democrat 2.2m to 1.2m and there was no outside money involved on either side. Green won by 21.5 percent.
In the 2024 Presidential Election in this district, effectively zero money was spent by either Presidential campaign and Republicans were energized in a state they were always expected to win.
In the 2025 Special Election:
Republicans fought a brutal and very nasty primary and the eventual winner Van Epps walked away with barely 50 percent of the vote.
The Democrat raised a lot of money and had substantial outside investment in turnout in the urban parts of the district. This is evidenced by the largest swing being in the most black/Democrat county Davidson which Behn won by 56 points.
When both the D and the R campaigns are fully funded and have strong outside support, this district is more competitive than when there is minimal spending here. But even with the D getting full support, it’s still an L for them, so in the general election this money will instead go to more competitive districts and Republican money will also go elsewhere. Republicans will be better united as time heals divisions from the primary and the typical margin of victory will return.
One factor here is that Dem money does a better job turning their voters out than Republican money does turning our voters out and that’s a discussion for another day.
@LalleyDerek@JimMcIlvaine@MarquetteMBB I knew Buzz's incredible 3-year run of sweet 16s would spoil our fans and predicted at the time it would never happen again in MU history.
I'm happy with the 2024 sweet 16. Except for those 3 years with Buzz, that is one of 2 sweet 16 teams in 30 years at marquette (w-2003)
It came to my attention that @NickJFuentes made the false claim during his interview with @TuckerCarlson that I introduced him to @joekent16jan19.
This is 100% false. I never introduced him to Joe or to anyone else.
That connection was set up by somebody else without my knowledge and I was only informed about it after the fact.
Thank you, @afpwisconsin and @tpaction , for hosting the United for Liberty event this past Sunday and for honoring the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk. In times like these, it’s truly uplifting to come together in unity and purpose.

@Dailytakes@Brewers The only bad thing about this season is i took my wife to an early season game and told her this looked like a really fun .500 team. Now she thinks i know nothing about baseball.
As Nate Silver acknowledges, @colbertlateshow was losing 10s of millions of dollars a year for cbs & I add trashing half of america for not agreeing with his politics as well as his actual employer - why would any network keep him? https://t.co/q4HB3KkX2g
https://t.co/hYsI8ijuMy @NEWSMAX has grown their audience to 40 million and appreciate them running my piece on the greatest all-star this year. Paul Skenes girlfriend @livvydunne has 10 million more followers than me for the record lol @Wisconsin_FFC
https://t.co/2StuTBnQPl while most interviews focused on Trump's Aug.30 deadline for Russia, the great St. Louis hosts had a bit of fun with me pretending the line broke up when they asked about Epstein. Here is a map of radio interviews today. @Wisconsin_FFC
@elonmusk Federal spending grew from $1.8 trillion in 2000 to $4.5 trillion before covid. Way too much, but nothing compared to using Covid as an excuse to go to $7 trillion and then take the Democrats position that with the shut down past we cannot cut back and federal spending is sacred
It’s bad news for Underly & DPW that @KinserforWI is common sense, pro-kids candidate running to restore the high standards that they’re trying to hide their failures behind.
@ChargeOconnell im in the fan column for Referee Bill O'Connell. Was a visiting Marquette fan facing usually tough Newark fans of Seton Hall, and O'Connell was basically threatening to throw their fans out of the arena and reminding them how cold it was outside lol.
