@RichardHanania I've been saying this. All the people crying about how we need to keep the immigrants out to preserve our society high-trust society are the same people telling you not to trust any of our institutions.
@MarketMemory_1@ToonHive How is your name Market Memory if you can't even remember what basic ROI is? If you dump infinite money into something, it'll be good. The question is always if it's worth the cost, or if the money could generate more value by being spent elsewhere.
@mattyglesias Isn't this mostly explained by the education polarization? More education = less children, and also more education = more likely to be left leaning?
@Lucky_ChannelAK As the tech guy of the family, I can't recommend grandparents get an Android, because they could be tricked into installing malware. How they're doing it is bad, but they have a legitimate problem to solve that's hurting sales.
@DavidF123456789@gamingnoobdev Here's the bar I use. If you take out the "AI" from the feature name, is the feature still justified? If not, then it's a case of ai = bad. Most of these "AI features" would not be included if you could not call them "AI," because they're just there to be marketing.
@SPACEXDG@M_Hadrian_@AnAverageGamerX Right. They could use the RAM to make gaming GPUs... instead they're using it for AI CPUs. Which goes back to my previous point: gaming has taken a backseat to make more AI chips.
@Pirat_Nation I feel like including NVidia is cheating when you're looking at if it's profitable. That's where a large amount of the expenses are going. And even then, it's not even close.
@WealthWithCash@unusual_whales Companies are charged token billing, which is insanely expensive. In many cases, non-business subscriptions are substantially cheaper than what corporations are charged.
@WealthWithCash@unusual_whales It doesn't matter if it helps your job if the improvements are not worth the cost. Are your productivity gains delivering more business value than the astronomical token costs? In most cases, the answer is no.
@hueoops Right wing incompetence theory is undefeated. It's the only thing holding America together. If they could actually execute on their idiotic ideas, America would be done.
@M_Hadrian_@AnAverageGamerX Where's the 5080 Ti? RTX 6000 series? Gaming has taken a backseat, which is the point of the joke. Everything has been paused/delayed to make more AI chips.
@WazzCrypto Most index funds use free-float market caps, so the impact isn't too massive to individual investors (at least for SpaceX). But being forced to be the bag-holder like this should be illegal.
@ryan_chicago41@ZacksJerryRig The overall impact to any individual's 401k is probably small, but being used as exit liquidity in something that should not be allowed to happen is obnoxious.
@R4vonus@afonic@bee_fumo Regardless of what metric you use, be it per LoC written, per feature, or total overall bugs, AI introduces more bugs than human-written code. We have overwhelming data that proves this.
