The PCC reviews planning applications & pre-applications in the #JQ and is an essential part of monitoring the implementation of the @JQPlan. We're recruiting both experts and lay members who have an interest in the development of the Jewellery Quarter... (2/5)
IMPORTANT UPDATE:
The JQDT wrote to Birmingham City Council in September seeking reassurance that there would be no fire sale of council-owned assets in the #JQ in light of the Section 114 Notice being issued and subsequent media speculation. (1/n)
This Saturday, after 3 years of waiting, it was finally possible to realise our dream of welcoming Mark Koolmatrie from South Australia to the Jewellery Quarter, to perform a ceremony for Warrulan in Warstone Lane Cemetery:

@padders123 Hi John. Yes it is, we're yet to work out expected time commitment but our hope is a few hours per month. It depends on the size of the pool of people and the type of planning applications/pre-applications.
Thanks for bearing with us whilst we took a break following our successful referendum result. The #JQ Neighbourhood Plan is now a statutory part of the Birmingham Development Plan.
@JQDTbirmingham will now work to ensure that it’s adhered to, through the planning process. 1/2
Policies voted in by the public in the @JQPlan referendum aim to drive up retail footfall by making the #JQ an attractive destination.
It also has other policies to protect the jewellery trade and support new businesses with affordable workspace.
It has been an absolute pleasure working with the @JQPlan#neighbourhoodplanning team over so many years - the result is one of the most thoughtful and well evidenced neighbourhood plans yet and one worthy of the historic and economically important Jewellery Quarter
