How one breath can change the outcome of a moment a season, a career
@TewksHitting Agreed. Really enjoy it too.
Was gonna ask your thoughts on teoscar not getting to 2B on the ball off wall. Didn’t matter since he scored from first.. but say manea makes a pitch and rolls a DP. Bad look to put the team in that spot?
@tommym8@TewksHitting I’m just a non blue checkmark guy and I’ve commented on zero meaningless debates but for what it’s worth, I understand the checkpoint he’s referring to.
Minor nuances during a snapshot of a swing vs what’s actually making a swing happen (locomotion).
This scene from Cool Runnings hit me hard:
"A gold medal is a wonderful thing, but if you're not enough without it, you'll never be enough with it."
One of the most significant lies we tell ourselves:
"If I get [X], then I'll be happy."
It's easy to convince yourself that your happiness is contingent upon some external milestone:
• Money
• Promotion
• Fancy stuff
• Recognition
But these "if, then" traps are a dangerous mirage:
You climb to the top of that mountain, only to see the happiness you thought you'd find melt away and reappear in the distance.
If you convince yourself that your satisfaction is contingent upon the next achievement or milestone, you'll never find it.
Real satisfaction and happiness is an inside job:
Find it on the journey—or you won't find it at all.
Remember: If you're not enough without it, you'll never be enough with it...
Was diving into some older Japanese hitters I could find on the webs and came across this one.. it wasn’t the only one either. I’ve seen something similar on @PeloteroApp and makes me think you guys may have drawn inspiration at one point in time. @TewksHitting@CC20rake
Will it happen like this every single time? Not a chance. But when you do it for the team first, the individual eventually gets rewarded.
Selflessly selfish.
How many young players are taking these nuggets from the best in the world? My guess is not a lot, but it’s not their fault. This doesn’t get celebrated like it should.
I know that these are dudes I want on my team.
“But it was an inside pitch coach.” Yes, by design, control the barrel.
Situation dictates approach. Watch the swing. ZERO INTENT TO PULL THE BALL (in my opinion). Everything is working the other way.
What starts as a non-selfish team at bat ends up turning into a hit and RBI
News flash - There's no one way to teach hitting. Simple cues like "stay short," and "take the knob to the ball" might work for some people. There's nothing wrong with them, if the player in question resonates with them or needs them.
This may be one of the more honest tweet threads I’ll ever have. You want to play D1 baseball? Awesome. There’s 299 D1 baseball programs around this country. That’s over 10k baseball players. You’re a 17-18 year old that wants to compete against 21-23 year old grown men.
Imagine the 🌍 we’d be in as coaches & athletes if people spent as much time developing their methods, teaching & perfecting their craft as they did talking shit on each other.
