@trumanosmond23 This is very true! Some cover bands have seen quite the amount of success from recreating songs from other popular bands and showed no shortage of excitement at their concerts #S22POPMUS
@BlakeZoeFrance1 The pandemic has certainly had an impact on live music, as it made people appreciate live music more and the social aspect that comes with it, as we see larger than ever gatherings now after the pandemic. #S22POPMUS
@britthomewood I agree with this! Hearing an artist on Spotify can be appealing, and then listening to that same artist live can be disappointing as the quality of their music may not be there without the autotune or background vocals #S22POPMUS
I prefer the original artist's music, however live cover bands are always great in the social aspect and appreciating the talent they have, especially if the original artist uses autotune. #S22POPMUS
@tajsquires "Schlock rock' certainly has it's place in history, however the musicians who produce it should be giving credit to the original musicians/songwriters, otherwise it can be deemed cultural theft.
@JacobRodden I agree with you with the fact that Schlock can be deemed as cultural theft. At the very least, schlock musicians should give credit to the original musicians, instead of directly taking their work and crediting themselves for commercial success.
@HaqueTasnimah Very good point in that the original song may never be found if it wasn't for the schlock version, however, credits to the original author need to be given where due and schlock music does not quite do that.
Schlock music should not be dismissed, despite it being viewed as cultural theft, as it is an important piece of musical history. However, credit should be given to the original artists. #S22POPMUS
@ShouryankC#S22POPMUS I agree with the fact that using breaking voices displays true emotion behind the lyrics that the singer is feeling throughout the song.
@svernb#S22POPMUS Ray Charles' use of breaking voices in "I've got a Woman" certainly does help the listener to feel the raw emotions that he feels in this song.
Ray Charles used his unique breaking voice in "I've Got a Woman" to express pure emotion in a way that may not otherwise be conveyed through lyrics, it allows for the listener to feel the emotions he feels in this song. #S22POPMUS
Devices such as bluetooth headphones have also helped us access music easier, not having to plug headphones or a headset into a plug-in on a laptop or phone to listen to music. #S22POPMUS
Streaming services in the modern era have allowed people like myself to have easier access to music than even before. Services such as Apple Music and Spotify suggest songs from all sorts of genres, therefore allowing us to expand on the music we listen to. #S22POPMUS
#S22POPMUS Popular music is not a "dumbed down" form of music as several of these songs portray very important messages, whether it is obviously clear or more hidden. Most all people worldwide tend to love these songs as well.
