Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a terminal disease that progressively paralyzes people. Currently, there are limited treatments and no cure. Nearly 4,000 Canadians live with the disease.
At ALS Canada, we’re not just envisioning #aWorldFreeOfALS – we're actively creating it.

Wheels up and en route to the nation’s capital to meet with Parliamentarians to request funding for the Canadian Collaboration to Cure ALS. Now is the time to invest in Made in Canada solutions.
This week, the Canadian #ALS community is headed to Ottawa for a Federal Advocacy Day on Parliament Hill. People living with ALS, caregivers, researchers, clinicians, and ALS Societies from across the country are united in calling on the federal government to invest $50 million over five years in the Canadian Collaboration to Cure ALS. This investment will scale three made-in Canada projects that together ensure no Canadian living with ALS is left behind.
Stay tuned for updates from Parliament Hill over the next few days! To learn more about the Canadian Collaboration to Cure ALS, visit: https://t.co/ens6wvxRcO.
@WallStreetApes Outliers in EVERY system are possible, but as a Canadian with a terminal illness that required MRI and CT scans to diagnose, two weeks was the max time I ever had to wait, and in some cases, as little as 3 days. Seems like maybe the doc didn’t check the “urgent” box.
Separated by a generation, connected by a diagnosis. Didn’t realize the “new” profound nature of “Killing me softly” until today.

"Killing me softly with his song..." The world lost a true legend today. Roberta Flack, known for her unforgettable voice, passed away after a brave battle with ALS.
Her timeless music will continue to inspire and touch hearts forever. Thank you for the magic, Roberta. You’ll never be forgotten.
