10 years ago today my 2 year old daughter helped save my life. What happened to me could happen to anyone at anytime so please, please teach your children how to make an emergency call. Take it from someone who knows, it could be the difference between life & death.
As the wife of a veteran who served 22 years in HM Forces this matters deeply to me.
Our Forces deserve respect & fairness not the threat of being dragged back years later for doing their duty. Please back this we must stand by those who stood for us 🇬🇧

A simple “Happy St George’s Day” would have sufficed. Instead, this risks creating division where there shouldn’t be any. The flag belongs to everyone, most people fly it with pride, not politics.
Happy St. George’s Day!
St George’s flag stands for unity over hatred and decency over division.
Those are the values I will always fight for.
Some try to hijack our flag to spread hate, I reject their plastic patriotism.

@CabralDanu68789@GMB Megan died Nov 2025 whilst studying at Bournemouth Uni and this prompted my letter below to the MP of Bournemouth West. The reply from the MP is because of this. It was only a few months ago and sadly we have more cases and tragic loss of life.
@TalkTV@theresecoffey This strain is MenB, so unless you were born 2015 onwards you aren’t eligible for it on the NHS! Many parents don’t know about this and many can’t afford approx £220 for the private vaccine. All our students should be vaccinated! The Gov take enough from their student loans!!!
This was the response to my request that all students should be vaccinated against MenB.
Students already pay enough through years of loan repayments and interest, the least they deserve is access to a life saving vaccine without having to pay extra for it.
I wrote to my MP asking for MenB vaccine be offered to students. Young children receive it on the NHS, older teens don’t. After a @bournemouthuni student tragically died, now this, it should be reconsidered urgently. https://t.co/2mkkJ5Em1Z
@Channel4News Absolutely! Why are one of the very groups of people that need the vaccine most not eligible under the NHS. Many parents are not aware the meningitis vaccine their kids had aged 13/14 does not cover this strain. Also many can’t afford £200 privately. Students shouldn’t be at risk
@SkyNews So lethal they won’t pay for students who are at risk to have the vaccine! Students born before 2015 can only have this vaccine if they pay privately for it (£200). This was the gov response when I wrote to my MP in Nov after a Bournemouth Uni sadly died from the MenB strain.
@JeremyVineOn5 At nearly 15 she’s not too young at all. Most girls her age experiment with makeup and there’s nothing wrong with encouraging a creative interest. Plenty of successful beauty entrepreneurs started young, just look at Kylie Jenner!
@crazytreewoman @jdpoc Exactly! Teens shouldn’t have to pay for a vaccine that other children have on the NHS simply because they were born before 2015. If they are at risk they should be eligible. Many parents can’t afford that.
@crazytreewoman @jdpoc This vaccine became available in 2015 and only those born after this time were and still are eligible. A huge number of teenagers have not been vaccinated and many parents are not even aware that the meningitis vaccine their children had does not cover MenB.
@jdpoc Unfortunately you are misinformed. It’s only available for younger children via NHS. The meningitis vaccine you refer to is MenACWY which is offered to teenagers aged 13-14. MenB for children born before 2015 is available privately for £220.
Teenagers shouldn’t be at risk.
@SkyNews@StothardTV People being outraged about a protest supporting the Iranian regime being cancelled says a lot. This is a regime that represses, imprisons, tortures, executes its own people and causes terror around the world. There’s nothing principled about defending that!
@omid9 How dare they talk over people who have endured tyranny. The audacity!
When someone dismisses the voices of those who have lived with a murderous regime, it reveals far more about their arrogance and ignorance than it does about the truth.
Imagine calling yourself a “feminist” while protesting those who fight to free women from a regime that blinds them with acid for showing their hair and imprisons, tortures, or kills those who dare demand basic freedom. #FreeIran#Iran
